FML all the ps3's are gone throughout the lower mainland and Bestbuy won't price match it unless costco had some stock left. Edit: SO i called Metrotown, Queensborough and Cambie and they said they won't pricematch Costco. So Richmond gave me false information. Time to slap a bitch |
WWE12 is awesome |
On the Costco price ending in .97, that means the product is on clearance and will not be restocked. (I worked at Costco for 2 yrs) For anyone wanting Batman Arkham City PS3, It will be $30 at Walmart and Future Shop starting Friday Nov 25th to Sun Nov 27th. For some reason Best Buy is $39.99 so you might be able to price match. |

A friend informed me that Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions will be $20 at EBGAMES this Friday. Is this true? Can anyone confirm this? I have a hard time believing anything from EBGAMES. |

Wondering if anyone here is having any issues after updating to Firmware 4.00? Lots of reports on line of people getting freezing issues, controllers not syncing etc. I haven’t updated yet, holding off to see if sony releases 4.01 as a "fix". Wondering if anyone here is having these issues? |

Was playing MW3 yesterday morning and had no problems. Unless this update came out yesterday afternoon. |
Update was last tuesday i think. If you have it, it will list 4.0 as your FW under system information. Arrrggggg, I really dont want to brick my old fat unit. Damn it SONY get your shit together! |
i have FW 4.0 and it runs smoothly...it's a slim if that makes any difference it's come a long way...i still remember how frustrating it was with no in-game XMB lol |

Just backed up my harddrive in preperation for the worst lol |
I need some advice on how to transfer my saved game data onto a new PS3 -I have an original 20gig ps3 -the hard drive was getting full, so I swapped in a 60gig SSD, transferred the info over using a 16gig thumb drive -this PS3 has failed on me 3 times now, I "fixed" it a couple times with the heat gun, it doesn't last. -I just bought a new 320gig PS3 So what is the best way to get my saved games/info on to my new PS3? -do I need to "fix" my old one again so I can use the thumb drive to transfer? -can I just put the SSD into my new PS3 -> transfer info to thumb drive -> put 320gig drive back in -> transfer thumb drive to new hard drive -should I just put the 60gig SSD in and call it a day? until it gets full.. -is the new PS3 going to try and format any drive I put into it? |
you will need to fix it again...and hope it can run for a few hours then you can connect your old one then use transfer utility under settings ( i think that's what it's called)...it will move all your saves/themes/settings to your new PS3 through an ethernet RJ-45 cable...even the saves that are locked so that's why usb flash drive option probably wont work. |
^ correct, any drive placed in a PS3 that it wasn't originally in will be formatted, wiping everything. I'm assuming you didn't fix it correctly with the heat gun. did you use no-clean flux? |

I take it there is a better way? -edit- Well crap, just watched a video about that, same guy that did the other video guide I used haha Now if I have to fix it anyways, and this method lasts... do I really need a new one.. has the quality changed at all? have they changed how they make the new ones? I don't really want to have to keep dealing with this... my nintendo from 1986 still works fine, why can't my PS3 last as long |
You need to use loads of no clean flux or it won't hold, having too much can't hurt anything so go overkill. I also heat it for a lot longer, usually 3-4 minutes moving in big loops over both chips. On that front your safer lowballing on the heat since you can always do it again (within reason), but if you go way overkill on the heat you can nuke the chip and then you're hooped. The quality hasn't changed a whole lot, if yours is backwards compatible and you don't need that feature I'd say sell it because the BC ones (used) sell for about the same as a new slim. Otherwise, you can sell if you want the piece of mind and a new warranty, or you can keep it (likely for a long time) and postpone needing a new one (if nothing else til they price goes down or you see a sweet bundle). I really need to make writeups on my PS3 and 360 methods and get them stickied on here... |
Any big stores that carry the no-clean flux pens? or at least stores that are open late enough to pick up after work? |
Anyone playing Assassins Creed? If I play AC, AC2, AC Brotherhood, AC Revelations I should be set right? Are any of the DLCs in between a must play to help with the story? |
What is the best headset/mic for PS3? Ive been looking at a universal one, Turtle beach PX5. The next games i will be buying are Initial D and Wangan. |
