PS3 can now play Blu-Ray movies at 720p, thanks to 1.8 (it’s official) :D

I just bought my PS3 yesterday! What a treat to have the update recently. However, there aren't many GOOD games to buy... However, I see lots of games upcoming that looks fabulous!

futureshop has it as a bundle rit now i believe

got Pirates 1 & 2, casino royal, resident evil 2nd, night at the musem and some others

699 is a crazy deal from futureshop! u get pirates 1 and 2 bluray + F1 which is decent

i'm anxiously awaiting ninja gaiden sigma. the demo was a lot of fun

can anyone actually set the media sharing thing?
i got all my photos, music and videos into the WMP11 library, and i have media sharing on, my PC detects my PS3 and my PS3 can see the media server, but when i open the folders, it say there are no video/image/music files

I can't even get my PS3 and PC to detect each other :(

What is your file format?

just the standard JPG, MPG and MP3!! i was already trying with files that are standard!!!

both my MCE and my Desktop can see the PS3 and my PS3 can see them. but NONE of them can see the shared files

not even between the MCE and Desktop. neither can my xbox see the files.

does anyone know if EB games price match their products?
(ie if future shop sells a game for 59.99 would they match the price)?

why would u buy games from EB games they have the shittiest warrantys and they have stupid refund policies.

I dont believe they have price match at EB games. but i am not 100% sure maybe someone can followup on it.

The reason why I plan to buy there is I plan to trade in a game so I can still get credit from them in store.

Also, can the PS3 play avi files now with the new firmware upgrade?

I haven't tried God of War yet (it has an in-game widescreen setting) I've been playing Chaos Legion and the sides are squished in now. it used to have 2 black bars on the side like 2 inches thick, now it's like 5 inches thick on both sides.

hmm eb does price match on games. just not the hardwares. you don't really need to have a flyer to do a pricematch cause they'll call fs or bs for you to confirm a price if you don't have the flyers with you ~ at least that's the case in coquitlam and lougheed ~ dunno about the other stores

FYI 1080I is the same as 720P.

im always curious is 1080i better than 720p?

but 1080's resolution is bigger than 720

so its like tryin to spread a 1.0mp picture on to a 70" tv vs a 2.0mp pic ..obviously the 2.0mp will look better becuz it has bigger resolutions to stretch??

P has more lines than i....but nth to do with the resolution i believe

It depends on the subject matter. For fast moving scenes like sports and video games, definitely DEFINITELY a progressive stream is required. However, for slow moving scenes in dramas, etc, then interlaced can be fine, allowing a higher screen resolution.

720P=720 lines of horizontal resolution drawn 60times/second

i'm pretty sure it's removed coz it was mentioned a in one of the forum a while back to cut back cost and increase production

as for price matching ~ i guess it depends on who you are dealing with ~
