what i dont get is, how can sony release a firmware that up converts all the ps2 games to whatever your hdtv can handle, yet the ps3 games doesnt?

im talking bout us early hdtv adopters.. my tv only displays 1080i and 480p....

so i get suckered into the dreaded downgraded 480p resolutions when playing motorstorm, resistance and heavenly sword

Yes it is. Most rear-projection CRT HDTVs only support 480p and 1080i. It's the PS3 that doesn't support 1080i because the 360 sure does.

Most (all?) rear-projection CRT HDTV's are not HDTV's, and don't have resolutions of 1920x1080. They have a low native res and downscale 1080i to fit. So even if you're watching 1080i, it's not actually 1080i.

Games only run in progressive mode (60 Hz). So if you have a proper HDTV (1080p, 720p) games will run in HD. Otherwise, you will be stuck with 480i upconverted by the TV to 1080i.

But my point is, even 1080i on those old/cheap sets are upconverted anyway, so anyone who is complaining should just go buy a new TV if they don't like it.

ugh this is retarded, my ps3 is mostly seeing action through blu ray movies and so far, no games has interest me

i already have ninja gaiden for xbox so i didnt feel like shelling out for the ps3 version

now i just feel like picking up any random game so i can use my ps3 with.. anyone going through the same process


hows heavenly sword? i read from reviews it isnt that great.. which is dissapointing considering all the hype

although im planning to pick up Warhawk... it looks like a good multiplayer game, i just hope its close enough to what Battlefield 2 is for the console version.... Best Buy is having it on sale for $40, including a blu tooth headset...

My PS3 has been collecting dust for the past couple weeks ever since I got the Wii modded ;)

Anyways, the only game I ever spend anytime on playing on the PS3 is Formula 1 Championship!!

If you like this game you've got to get the Logitech G25 steering wheel as it makes this game even better!!!

I just have to make a seat and column to mount the wheel to and then I'm all set!!

one thing i learned whenever a hyped video game comes out and i cant wait my ass off to play it is that whenever its listed the release date on a website or sumthin, it actually means when the game is being released from warehouses and shipped..
