is BF: Bad Company really that good? i tried the demo but i just couldn't get into it..

Ch28: what's ur PSN + MGOID, i'll add you

well im playing it on xbx Live... i have both consoles and i only play online on ps3 for exclusive games, i figured im already paying online for Live, so might as well get games for the 360..

basically Bad Company took some aspects of COD4, gameplay wise and everything... although its not perfect, its still fun online.. which is almost on par with COD4's levelling system..

you only get one more though, which is Gold Rush, its Attack or Defend mode...

its really fun once you get used to the controls, the Frostbite engine creates perfect atmosphere for desctructible environments, sometimes its gets really chaotic...

IMO, i never got into the demo either until i gave it another shot for couple of hours just before i got it.., i just bought this game because i got it cheap for $30, and IMO its still worth paying $60 for it.... i never even started on single player, all iv been playing is multiplayer..

mlworks 07-07-2008 12:44 AM

true, a lot of times the demo isn't a good representation of the game.. not to mention, BF:V and BF:2142 wasn't my cup of tea so i'm having my doubts especially after the demo..

My PSN is kevvur but I won't be playing MGO anytime soon. I lent my copy to a friend of mine :o

I tried BF: Bad Company but I couldn't get into it as well. I found the aiming to be harder than COD4. Maybe I'm just not use to it...I did enjoy the destructible environment though

dub.g 07-07-2008 10:52 PM

its really annoying the beginning of the game when your getting used to the controls,

you will find yourself getting tagged and killed while spawning with team mates..

it sucks that you cant customize your controls

Triangle for ps3 i think is to knife someone, which is a little responsive compare to COD4's right analog button..

but ya, give it more time and play the demo, see if you can really get into it..

i've played the battlefield bad company demo non stop for the past 2 weeks or so, its actually really fun. The only bad thing is that for some reason I can't shoot through a wall at an enemy like cod4
otherwise i might pick up a real copy of the game off revscene soon

Looks like a new update is out 2.41. I'm downloading it right now. Is there anyway to go online without updating ?

If 2.40 is any indication, you may want to wait for a few days before updating the console

God knows what is wrong wit 2.41

I learn that from 2.0, NOT A GOOD FEELING

Hyde 07-08-2008 08:10 PM

Oshin 07-08-2008 09:43 PM

I believe you can download the patch from playstation.com, put it in a usb key and install it from there

no.. you can maybe use the browser but as for online play you can't, since you need to update before you log-in to PSN

what do you mean? signing up to play MGO or adding people in MGO? adding players in MGO is really stupid, the other player must be online or you can't add them.

got the 2.41 update... finally in-game msging!

Hyde 07-12-2008 06:34 AM

hotjoint 07-12-2008 08:45 AM

agentcloud 07-12-2008 10:45 PM

this looks pretty awesome

not expecting a very well-done game, but i hope they dont completely screw this up like many movie video games

SkinnyPupp 07-12-2008 11:06 PM

They weren't even going to make the game, but due to the reaction to the screenshots and rumors, they are going ahead with it

DS3 + smaller cell processor(45nm)

cost cutting for sony

the 40gigs right now have a 65nm processor, launch consoles had a 90nm one

Ch28 07-13-2008 03:50 PM

How do you guys play xvids on the PS3? Does it upscale the movie as well?

Is there also a way to play hd-dvd and blu-ray ripped movies?

so its better to pick up the 40gb in stock now than to get the one with a smaller processor? why is smaller processer =/= better?

no0dles 07-13-2008 05:16 PM

^ less heat generated i would think ~ but then again ~ my 60gb nm overheated once yet ~

just put the files on a memory card, go to "Video" on the XMB to load them up.. works just like a computer.

there are tools online that ppl convert h264 to a format the ps3 can recognise, those would be close to blu-ray quality i believe
