^^ too early to ask.. alot of people just got it yesterday. haha
although u have an in game adjustment volume control for the headset that pops up at the top right corner of the screen, which also allows u to see how much battery life you have left like the controllers..
The proximity voice chat is pretty cool and trippy
if you do team chat, voices that do the team chat as well comes through ur headset
if they do an open chat, their voices comes out through the speakers, wether they standing on ur left or right, ..and if they are slightly further from you, the voices will be faint...
whats hilarious is i was playing Breach last night and the gameplay is i was in the defender team and the opposing team was making a plan to destroy one of the wall to get in the base (yes you can destroy some selective walls in the map by planting a c4) and like 4 of us in the same team can hear their chatter from the other side of the wall
so we knew when they were gonna blow up and raid in, so once they start coming up, we just barraded them with grenades and rocket launchers
4 out of 5 game modes have no respawn rule, which shows you that this is team base tactical game..
Oshin you like MGO so much, you might end up liking this, maps are considerably bigger and the 2 games are almost alike, except its CQC less..

I hated MGO because its control feels a lot different than CoD4 and Halo3 so I stopped about 30 mins in

lol you stopped on a game because of the control? you are comparing a 3rd person shooter game with a fps... obviously control will be a bit different. Socom has similar control like mgo... so I guess you wouldn't be playing it then huh?

in fact, the thing I hated most is the aiming. That really killed it for me.

As for Socom, what Dub.g described looks quite fun, especially with the headphone settings.
I am just wondering if Socom plays similar to MGS style or more Ghost Recon
edit: especially the aiming part

Socom plays more close to MGS than GRAW
although the shooting is more defined and feel natural like FPS.. MGO feels like nothing more than MGS gameplay enforced online....
but its no COD........ all guns have terrible recoil, you cant spray.. strategically burst shots is ideal....
u can jump but u cant dodge, you can go in a prone position and walk like in MGS, you can also crawl...
just to simply put, this is a slower type of shooter, its no COD.. either u b patient and attack with hesitant...
just play the game like how u would behave in real life.. stick to one of ur comrades....
im tryin to figure out if there is a cover system to pick through corners or not.. i saw on screenshots but i cant do it in game
this game is essentially better than MGO imo.. MGO was made for MGS hardcore fanbase... which guys like me and Oshin really like..
and the servers is still really clunky .. there is hiccups, freezes.... dont rush and buy it unless ur getting it for the headset.....

Rockband 2 came out a few days ago. Anyone picked up a copy yet? I'd like to know if Stupidstore has it for cheaper that the other guys.
EDIT: It's the same prices as everywhere else. $60.

I just finished star wars. Beat it with both of the endings. I bought Golden Axe: Beast Rider. I'll start playing after the canucks game is over today after I beat Golden Axe back to NHL 09!

You bought Golden Axe? Ouch
I feel stupid, I could have bought a bunch of copies of LBP, they were out in HK last week... Since the recall, they are being sold as 'collectors items' on Ebay for like $200 each now |

Normally, we avoid metareviews of games that have been universally maligned because, well, who cares about them? But reader Joseph P. pointed us to a review this morning that made us reconsider our position on Golden Axe: Beast Rider. Let's see if you can figure out which one it is.
Eurogamer (30/100): "Castle Crashers has already shown that there's a market for well-produced 2D hackandslash, but instead we get this utterly charmless and shamelessly derivative 3D shrug of a game. SEGA might as well have released this as The Adventures of Fiery Boob Lady, and left their mothballed franchise with at least modicum of dignity."
IGN (32/100): "If had to sum up my feelings for Golden Axe: Beast Rider in five words or less, I'd actually do it in one: hatred. The game is so ridden with poor production values that there's absolutely nothing redeeming about the game, and its checklist of annoying issues will drive all but the already-insane crazy long before it ends."
GamePro (40/100): "Fans hoping for a worthwhile update to one of gaming's most revered hack-and-slash franchises will be sorely disappointed by this poorly designed and utterly mediocre title."
Play (90/100): "I could write another page on things I love about Beast Rider, like how bloody cool it looks when Tyris slices a body in two or hacks off an arm, subtle homages like scampering gnomes and thorny spikes, the naked body parts that Death Adder's minions use for decoration, how the game runs like a dream on PS3, and how awesome it is that the single-player experience wasn't compromised to add some bogus online crapola, but I think my work here is done."
You read that right: A 9 out of 10. How could something like this have happened, you ask? Well, in this missive, reviewer Dave Halverson theorizes that most reviewers didn't even finish the game. We haven't played it ourselves and with Halverson listing "the lack of a multiplayer mode" among the things he loves about Beast Rider, we don't know who to trust. Have any of you given it a shot?

u paid $60?
in 3 months u will see this game in the bargain bin for $20... heck Conan is $10 now and its a decent game.. better bang for the buck...

SOCOM : Confrontation is amazing!!! especially because i've been playing it online since the original SOCOM 1!!! *-Mclaren-*
its sooo much faster and the graphics are well...stunning! and they re-did a lot of the original maps from SOCOM 2 and 3 which makes it a lot more fun!
main server is still a little shaky and the ranking system is being reworked, but soon enough it will be fixed!
HIGHLY recommend picking it up, tons of people are already online and its only $60 WITH the headset, so even if your just in it for the headset its a good deal.

Better than 3.2/10. Not 9/10 good but probably 7/10 good. The game looks good, plays good. By action game standards its incredibly long. It has unlockable outfits. Really awesome beasts to ride. The parry/evade system works beautifully. But my only complaint is that the combo system is not as in-depth as it should be. That and the game could really use a steady framerate. So while the game is not GOTY material it definitely gets the job done. Its really sad that this game has been marred by the IGN review. I think Dave Halverson probably tried to make his review make up the difference for the incredibly unprofessional and low review by IGN by giving the game a 9 when it probably should have gotten a 6 or 7. I definitely recommend this game to anyone who loves action games. Treat the first level as a tutorial to learn how to play the game and then enjoy from there cause it can be kind of slow for the first level."
I checked a few other sites where people actually bought and played the game. I don't listen to everything that IGN, Gamespot and the other websites say when reviewing games because everyone like different genres. http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps3/review/R129107.html http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/gento...p?board=933096
The one main complaint about this game is that you can only use the female character. I'm going to play it tomorrow and get back to you guys about it. I love hack and slash games
I heard that Conan was a decent game and I'm looking for a copy for $10. Anyone have one for sale ?

EB has Conan on sale for $10 or $12 if u want to be exact...
Lair is down from $25 to $15 now...... im talking about pre owned copies of course......... and there are reason their prices have gown down to toilet.. because ppl keep exchanging them for something better.. so stores ends up having tons of stock
and yes even superstore has ps3 bargain bins at $10 now..
i dont know how you guys can shell out $60 for games just judging by a game fanchise, with no online implementation, or that only last 6 hours in gameplay..
and iv given up on Socom, until they release the next patch.. since yesterday, my average time in the game would be just under 20 mins until i either get booted back to the xmb, or the game freezes
its a really good game, tons of potential.. just the server is getting severe overload...

With the exclusion of co-op -- what people really want to play -- and the constant hint that a sequel's already on the way, Beast Rider feels like a difficult, drawn-out, $60 tutorial. Why bother?

Other than that, it depends on what type of game you like to play.
