How about a dinner/twilight photowalk? I've never been to a photolab gtg and I'd like to meet some of you gear-heads. |

So last night having one of the few rare friday nights off (since i work at a club) because I attended the arctic monkeys concert, probably pulled one of the most boneheaded moves ever (awesome show btw!) Get out about 12 o clock, and I was with a friend who dosn't party very often and he didn't want to go out because he works at 5 am. I drive him home, try calling up some friends but none seem to pickup so I figure, go home right? WRONG. I then decide to head the casino, and this is where the fun begins. I began by playing craps, and some newbie roller was rolling for a good 50 minutes, which put me up to 400 dollars (started with 25). But that kept me there till 3 am. Headed over to blackjack and had an insane hot streak which put me up to 1000 dollars. Now it's around 4 am and I'm feeling pretty tired, so I decide to call it a night. I get my chips and head to cashier. In excitment I decide to jump the rope that forms the line, and go down rolling my ankle HARD. At this point I think I'll just walk it off. I get back up, and I look at my ankle and it was 5 times the size. Then at the point I started to relize I was in exasperated pain. I quickly cash out my money, and head over to the craps table to where one of my friends was dealing. They call first aid for me, First aid, ices it down a bit, relize that there is a possibility it is broken since i cant move my ankle and the size of the swelling. Call an ambulance. Stay in the hospital till 8 am. Discover that I have possibly one of the worst sprains ever seen by the doctor, (greek bones don't break apparently) and pay for a taxi cab back to the casino. Hand the ticket to the valet, and get my car back. So in conclusion if we add fuel for the hummer, and the time that I'll miss from work. 1000 -88 for the crutches and ankle brace -10 for the cab -20 for hummer fuel -300 from not working at the club tonight -100 for possibly not working at my warehouse job tommorow and I miss playing in my hockey game today =( |
$20 gas in the Hummer... where do you live, like three blocks from the casino? |
hey man look at the bright side, you still came out ahead! and you got some time off work! ;) Quote:

Just got back from the holy land, Canon HQ in Shinagwa. Played with the 1D Mk3/s and 600MM lol.. they the had close to the entire line up there.... you can try them all if u wish, just not on your own camera. also can't take pics there so.... i took some pics of the building... i'll post them in a few weeks.. |
....... Soooooo.....I was at the Reifel Bird Sactuary today, and I met this Chinese guy there - we were shooting a humming bird's nest. He was using a canon 1ds mkII with a 600mm f4 IS USM attached to it which he graciously let me play with for a little bit. Shit....that thing is almost enough to make me consider going to the dark side. I don't know if it's his lens or not, but it did seem to front-focus a bit. How do I look at the EXIF info on canon RAW files? The pictures I took with the camera seem to be quite noisy, so I want to know what ISO the camera was set at. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/PICT4659.jpg I focused (the focus indicator was glowing on the bird's head) on the hummingbird's head here, but the lens has focused slightly in front, on the nest. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/LP3C4752.jpg |
The corresponding .THM file is actually a JPG and contains all the relevant EXIF data. Nice CANNON (pun intended). Yikes! |
Holy crap look at the size of that thing, I think thats the tamron 50-500 that I want beside it, and its dwarfed ha ha That tripod looks pretty crazy too, is he one of those guys that walks around with the wheelbarrow carts? |
Soundy: There is no corresponding .THM file. There are only .CR2 files on the CF card. Kyle: That is a Sigma 50-500. Tamron has no such model. |
