Any suggestions? Posted via RS Mobile | Cheaper Back-to-school sale 2012 and other photo gifts at ArtsCow

^They offer both options but I'm not sure about the quality of the print for them. Id stick with Costco as there's no wait times for shipping.

Where are some places to check out in Hong Kong for great deals on Camera Gear? I know there's tons on Kowloon Mong Kok area but not sure which one is legit.

You will have to buy them separately though

Seems like a shitty deal. I've seen T3i's available for as little as $349 (body only).

that kit lens actually isn't bad - if you're shooting in daylight. Stop it down a little, and it's decently sharp. perfectly fine lens to start off with.
Camera bags will only be good for you if it's got the features you want. For a starter camera, those bags are fine. If you start collecting more lenses, or you want to go hiking with your camera (or carry a laptop), there are other bags.
check out Photography, Digital Camera, Lens Price Comparisons for Canada - photoprice.ca for price comparisons. Remember that if you are to buy the camera from Amazon in the states - Canon honors warranties from US retailers as well (just not the grey market stuff you can get from Adorama)

Kit lens isn't bad when you're learning. Good walkaround focal range. You'll need bright lighting though.
Get a 50mm f1.8 for $100.

24L 35L 50L 85L is the plan.
Well, maybe a Rokinon 35 (because it has a smooth aperture ring I would love to have for video) and no 50L since I think the 50 1.4 is good enough. 85L for sure.

1. Vertical shutters and setting adjustments for easy shooting in portrait
2. Extra weight out back for better balance when using heavy lenses (esp. with lighter bodies e.g. T2i)
3. Extra battery life when shooting video, and EASY access to battery (side load, no need to remove cam from tripod to place new batteries in)
4. Compatibility with AA Batteries, for when you're out of lithium battery packs in an emergency situation, you can still keep shooting.
