Lego Movie - 10/10

Grew up as a huge Lego fan and when the trailer first released I was not too impressed. Critic ratings started rolling in and it garnered a 97% positive rating from RT. Ended up watching it with a friend who is not nearly as big of a Lego fan as I but we both loved it.

The movie is not just a kids movie, watch it for yourself to see. You will not be disappointed.

Lone survivor

Movie was depressing as F.

Can't even rate it. Too many feels.

The Spectacular Now 7/10 - it was good for what the movie was. Characters were easily relatable.

Captain Phillips 8/10

Very well shot, but I thought the soundtrack was intrusive sometimes

Ender's Game
8/10

Love futuristic sci fi. Worth a watch.

Not as depressing as 12 Years A Slave.

Can't even imagine what slaves of any race went through. The "feeling" portrayed in this movie was beyond hopelessness.

That said, Fassbender was awesome in his role. The fact that Pitt was who he was in the movie was pretty lame, and would be my only complaint in the whole film.

9/10

Finally watched American Hustle tonight. Was better than I expected. 8/10
However, as much as I love Jennifer Lawrence, the only thing that bothered me a little was her inconsistent jersey accent. Seemed to trail on and off throughout the whole movie.

this part was probably my favorite scene in the whole movie

I completely agree. This movie was hilarious and awesome (that damn song). I suppose kids could enjoy it but they may not be able to grasp the wit.

Blue Jasmine - 7.5/10

Last one I saw too. Enjoyable, it was about what I expected. I'd give it a seven out of ten. My copy didn't have subtitles for the hijackers (were there ever any?) so there was a fair but of time watching talk to each with no comprehension on my part, which felt lacking

SkinnyPupp 02-12-2014 07:46 PM

Oh god I can't imagine watching it without subtitles... the pirates had their own story that was a huge part of the movie! :fulloffuck:

No wonder something seemed missing lol

SkinnyPupp 02-12-2014 09:09 PM

Yeah, literally half the movie was missing!

SpeedStars 02-12-2014 10:34 PM

RoboCop (2014) 7.5/10 didnt watch the original but it was still pretty good

rawr 02-12-2014 11:35 PM

Oldboy 2003 Korean film available on Netflix. 8/10. So suspenseful and dark, mind fucked. Recommended!

Robocop, 6.5/10

American Hustle: 7/10 - I think it got way over hyped before I had a chance to watch it so I was let down a little. Don't think it was "Movie of the Year" worthy.

12 Years A Slave: 8.5/10

I know this movie is heavily acclaimed, I tried watching it when it came out and gave it another shot last week neither time I could finish it. I like Daniel Day Lewis but for some reason this movie just doesn't do it for me.

I don't know, I took my son to see it opening night. His words, "Best movie I've ever seen" I on the other hand could barely stay awake, I actually think I nodded off for a few minutes part way through. I should probably say I'm not a big animation or lego guy, I don't love the Pixar movies either so I might not be the best person to judge if it's good or not.

lol reminds me of when I somehow downloaded a russian-titled version of Cloud Atlas with no subtitles. They spoke English but all the titles that showed time and place were all in Russian. Had no idea wtf was going on :concentrate:

Lancerion 02-14-2014 01:24 AM

Robocop 5/10

Cnguyen 02-14-2014 06:30 AM

Ah, crap. I also watched Captain Phillips without subtitles lol.

SkinnyPupp 02-14-2014 07:34 AM

:fulloffuck:

Where do you people get your movies, pirate bay :lawl:

white rocket 02-14-2014 07:44 AM

^^Bingo! I started watching with no subtitles and was like WTF!, re-DL'd with subtitles and thought to myself; man, imagine watching this without the subs, that would suck.

Jsunu 02-14-2014 09:14 AM

Also watched it w/o subtitles but it kinda added to the tense confusion that crew felt during the movie. Not knowing exactly what was transpiring inside their heads made their actions more unpredictable.
