Kingsmen: The Secret Service.

Bond films meet Kick Ass

9/10

bcuzracecarz 04-11-2015 09:27 AM

King's man 8.5/10

Was refreshing seeing something different. Went in not seeing the rating and expected a teen James Bond.... Was pleasantly surprised it was not

twitchyzero 04-11-2015 12:44 PM

rewatched black hawk down
7.9/10

I can appreciate the realism but I still prefer war movies with strong messages/metaphors from the likes of Kubrick or Coppola

so many familiar faces now: ari gold from entourage, Jaime lannister from GoT, phil dunphy from modern family, Tig from SoA, tom hardy from Nolan movies

Snowpiercer 5/10 - Cool concept but suffered from sub-par CGI and editing.

StylinRed 04-14-2015 01:20 AM

WhiteRocket did you watch the US release? Because the Weinsteins cut out about 20+minutes for the us release iirc

Furious 7 6/10

Whatever was on Movie Central so I'm guessing it's the US release. Curious what scenes were cut and how that may have made the movie better.

Interstellar 9.5/10 - wowzerz, great movie. Lots of drama. Cool concept of where earth could be at soon. Loved the space stuff. Time, space, and it's relevance were all done very well IMO. Chris Nolan is a fucking champ!

Jtseng 04-28-2015 12:23 AM

how is the new Avengers movie?

SkinnyPupp 04-28-2015 01:40 AM

Haven't seen it yet, but I'll make a prediction that this will be the consensus:

"It's an Avengers movie"

mk1freak 04-28-2015 03:04 AM

:suspicious:
Avengers isn't out until Friday? (Unless it got leaked)

SkinnyPupp 04-28-2015 03:17 AM

It was out on Tuesday here.. I'll wait for the blu ray though

Here's my latest:

Wolf of Wall Street: 3/10

I never thought I would hate a Scorsese movie this much. Some parts were cool, but there literally wasn't a single likeable character in the entire movie.

DanHibiki 04-28-2015 10:44 AM

I'm just gonna post it ahead of time. Avengers: Age of Ultron 10/10 :p

7pm coquitlam VIP on Thursday for me!

Worldwide release started last week.

xXSupa 04-28-2015 02:53 PM

Get Hard 8/10

A lot funnier than I expected.

I think there was only one, uncut version that was released after all the director's fights with the Weinsteins, so I doubt WhiteRocket watched a cut version. I'm surprised he didn't like as it received nearly universal acclaim, and I thought it was very well done. But to each his own.

Avengers 2: 6.7/10
Meh. Wasn't impressed, story line is very cookie cutter.

Ch28 04-29-2015 09:40 PM

I liked the first Avengers better because it was fresh and we didn't know what to expect. Avengers 2 is still a really good and entertaining movie but it's more about what happens that sets up the other movies. Loved the cameos by other characters they're going to have in the MCU

[edit] also surprised at how many funny scenes the movie had. Felt very Guardians of the Galaxy because of that

I was wrong...7.5/10... :(

I'm a huge fan and wanted to love this movie but I didn't...was still good but definitely did not quite reach the hype it got. Just too many thigns going on and too much concern with setting up other movies. I'm sure if they kept all the deleted scenes it would have flowed and made sense better though.

knight604 05-02-2015 05:32 PM

fast 7, action packed as f.

10/10

6793026 05-02-2015 10:01 PM

Blackhat 4/10.... FUCK ME what a shit movie.
crap acting, crap script, crap directing. How the falk does a cpu geek become like fbi and start killing people as if he's like a trained dude.

I wouldn't even watch this movie if it wasn't for it being filmed in HK. 4/10

rcoccultwar 05-03-2015 09:23 AM

The Age of Adaline

For some reason, the best movie of the year so far.

Bad reviews by women on the younger end of the spectrum?

Every so often you meet a woman in her early twenties that actually acts like a lady a decade beyond her years. A 29 year old with the experience and knowledge of a functioning pensioner? Blake Lively may have lucked out getting such a role.

(Spoiler alert): Theme- Meet the parents before getting into the hanky-panky.

lacubrious1 05-05-2015 09:11 AM

Avengers: Age of Ultron 6.5/10

604STIG 05-11-2015 01:45 PM

Avengers: Age of Ultron 7/10

murd0c 05-11-2015 03:42 PM

Maggie 4/10 didn't like it what so ever

SkinnyPupp 05-11-2015 07:04 PM

American Sniper 3/10

I guess I'm just over war movies... Modern ones at least
