I liked the movie as well. I've never heard of the culture of not telling someone about their terminal illness. It might be a northern China thing. Though, I've never been to a Chinese funeral either.

Joker. 9/10.

Joaquin Phoenix's performance is next level! -definitely an Oscar nomination for him.

the Mandalorian - 7/10
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mandalorian

episodes feel slightly squeezed on time for story telling, almost didn't feel like the starwars sega i'm use to,maybe because i didn't see any light sabors (yet).......that cliff hanger at the end tho....holy smokes..

lot of people were hyped for the "John Wick" meets starwars, lets just see if it picks up later,i feel like i enjoyed Fan made starwars films more than this so far,i'm giving it a chance to really pick up in future episodes....decent opening episode.

Pretty sure it's all build up until the season finale.

I've come to find that many content created shows leave an extravaganza on the last few episodes of a season.

Ford vs Ferrari - 8/10

The only thing that carried this movie was the storyline, IMO. And the cars of course.
Acting was decent-ish. Nothing to write home about. i don't think they did a great job of capturing that sixties ambiance. Which i think would have made it a much better movie.

Ford v. Ferrari

9/10 from me

I'd say this movie stays true to car enthusiasts but at the same time also has the appeal to regular people. Despite being a 2 and a half HR movie, I never felt it was moving too slow. The cinematics made me feel like I could anticipate every corner on Willow springs and La Sarthe coupled with the remarkable audio. I watched it in D-Box and if there's any movie that qualifies for D-Box it would be this one.

Don't get me wrong, i thought it was a good movie. I just feel like with it being such an awesome piece of automotive history that it could have been a great movie.
But i get it, they've gotta sell tickets.
I'm probably just biased against big name Hollywood movies. Or maybe i had higher expectations i dunno.

It's funny, this was the first movie I'd gone to the theater to see in over fifteen years. Our dealer rented it out for all employees plus one.
A lot has changed. Gone were those tiny uncomfortable flip up seats with nowhere to put your drinks and popcorn.
I thought for sure I'd fall asleep (like i often do watching movies) within twenty minutes sitting in the cushy leather motorized reclining lazyboys that'd replaced them.
But yea, it kept good pace. And no doubt the cinematography while driving was very well done.
A good movie. Just not the whole package for my taste.

Just to add, it was also nice to see that they kept fairly accurate with the story rather than turning it into a Ford propaganda flick. Kudos for that.

Joker - 9/10
Now this is a well directed film. Never thought Joaquin Pheonix was that strong of an actor. Superb performance.
Wonder why all the mainstream 'critics' thought it was terrible

Yea it could be they wanted something predictable.
Or maybe they didn't like the honesty of an antagonist and protagonist combined in this single character.

Much appreciation to Todd Phillips for creating something with some depth. Fantastic job.

Ad Astra - 3/10
Crap movie. It was like someone took a poem about his dad and slapped it on Interstellar visuals.

I fell asleep so many times, couldn't even finish.

1) seriously? driving a car on the mars at full speed and there are no protection... it's just like a dune buggy.
2) attacked by "pirates"?? wtf.... if u say there is such a community, how the f do you have people who are like pirates....

I did not like the movie at all; movie could have been done in like 20 minutes. I can see what the director wanted to convey a message, just lacked a punch. Brad did a decent job, just a epic ass weak script. Director says it'll be a realistic space movie, I could not disagree more. The attention to detail compared to other movies was not even close.

Rambo: Last Blood

Story: 5/10
Action: 8.5/10
Overall: about 7/10 for me

I personally really enjoyed this movie. I knew what to expect, obviously not a masterpiece of a story. The violent gore scenes were hilariously awesome. It was borderline stupid funny, but I enjoyed it.

Good end to the series? Not really.
Good Rambo movie? Not really.
Good revenge movie? YES

pretty legit movie. pretty loner dude, family doesn't respect him, and because of a accident he is able to use his skill set to escape. A bit of a easy flow movie. Korean tear gas leak causing some interesting escape plans.

No need to watch the trailer, happy go lucky movie, good flow. Would recommend. I just didn't think the ending is too strong.

8/10

pretty legit movie; 6 undergroudn; done by Michael Bay. Pretty crazy he took a lot of tips (*ahem copied) from other movies (baby driver, mission impossible, taken) script was ok,but yes, tons of shit blowing up, tons of crazy action. I do miss his mindless action.

lots of locations being shot everywhere, even in HK.

150 million cost to make the movie... good watch i gotta say;turn off ur brain and go 8/10.

6 Underground was a 4/10 for me. It felt like it was about 40 minutes too long. The car chase was cool, and it was funny at times. The French CIA agent was cool. Reynolds was funny.

The rest just had too much Michael Bay bullshit. Too many hectic flashback scenes, just one after the other. It was so badly paced. By the end I just wanted it to be over. Just waiting for the next action scene to happen, so the movie can be done. I knew what I was getting into, I turned off my brain, but even then it was just tedious lol

Not really shot in Hong Kong though, I think they just went there for some B roll and did the rest wherever (somewhere with right-hand traffic lol). They did go to Italy and UAE though

Rambo was pretty weird. It didn't really follow the story line and just went on its own rules and story. I don't really know why they even kept the name Rambo. It could have been any other movie.
I did think the gore and blood was legit; story was ok but it's not really a rambo movie
6/10
