Checked out that 84 GS today. It black....paint is bad shape but not really any rust....couple little spots on the driver fender...small ones. The paint is chipped on the back a decent amount. Interior is good. Starts instantly (when I started it, he could not get it to run at all). I got it started right away. Could not test compression cause my damn compression tester will not thread into the holes. :( But listened to all the pulses and they all sound strong and loud, and equal. Only problems are it needs a new brake master cylinder. And after it warms up it will not idle and keep running unless you continue to rev it and push the pedal down. Anyone know what could cause this? He said he hopes to get $1700 for it, I will post some pics of it. Its very dirty though. I am considering it though if I could get a proper compression test done and get the idle problem fixed and brake problem fixed before I drive it back to Parksville.

oh, will post pics when I get them from Coal. :D Was hella fun, some good adventures along the way and back with some other intresting cars. :D

Forgot something. The exhaust system looks like shit and the muffler is falling apart. The tips are all rusted and sort of mashed together a little bit. Lots of pressure coming out of exhaust though still, made my eyes water when I smelt it quickly (we were in the garage, but had the door open. :D )

Timpo....Thats CP racings kit I was talking about awhile back.Very pimp. That GS doesn't seem bad if you know a body shop guy who can cut you a deal on a paint job.The interior looks awesome but the motor looks dirty.

Yeah, the engine bay and engine is quite dirty.

I was talking to a guy I know who used to own a body shop, he said a respray in black should only cost around $800-$900. Not too hard to save that if I get the car. I am considering getting it done on my FC once its fixed and stuff. There is no rust really other then one real small spot so would not need much body work done, no dents in it either.

So from what I have heard, the idle problem is almost definatly the fuel/air mixture screw on the carb. Makese sense too, cause it only trys to stall out after the choke goes in, while its open it is getting enough air to run on its own but when closed it is WAY to rich to stay running without reving. This sound reasonable to anyone else??
