Any ideasd as to waht this means?

Justin's car would be a far better buy with an excellent body, brand new engine and other new goodies for 2k less. 7.8? No idea what that is...even with a unit measurement after that number it still doesn't mean much. A compression test will have 6 numbers, 3 per rotor. 110-120 psi is in the optimum range while 80 psi is getting towards the lower end of the scale. Each rotor should have a failry consistent rating and there shouldn't be more than 20 psi difference between front and rear rotors.

Keep in mind this is for 'stock-port' motors. A healthy street port will have slightly less compression due to the larger port size.

lol...I told the guy...5g's and his car for mine...mebbe he say yes..lol

t0mmy 10-05-2003 04:43 PM

That compression test for the car was done with a compression tester made for the rotary. Wouldn't know what numbers are good using that but you can check the FSM at http://www.iluvmyrx7.com and it'll have correct graphs where you can verify. I'm lazy to check :P BTW who needs all that sound equipment? You won't be hearing dick all after you remove all 3 cats. I lose a year of my hearing every time I cruise with these guys.

t0mmy 10-05-2003 05:09 PM

Wake up EARLY morning and get him to start the car from cold with the rad cap off. Watch for bubbles or a geyser. If so back off slowly then run. After which the car is warmed rev her to 5k and let her sit for awhile. No smoke means good working oil control rings. Compression tests you should leave to someone who knows a few things about cars or even rotaries. Not hard to do but... Other than that just look around for rust, dents, chips, odd noises, and what nots. If all things check out GO FOR THE 7!!! (Unbiased :p ) And if you're not lazy take a good skim through this page. http://aaroncake.net/RX-7/buy1.htm

t0mmy 10-05-2003 05:36 PM

Lol didn't mean a thing by that. Just saying you just need to be careful. Forgot the term for it but on piston engines doing those kind of checks without the fuel injection disabled will cause it to explode. Think its called hydraulicing or something. Was demonstrated doing a compression check and blew a brand new motor in the college.

There's secrets abrew. Also, I always hang out with Tyler, George, and Justin.

Didn't get .tk from your place :P known about it forever, and too cheap to put out on a domain right now.

S4, S5 or TII?

BC-X 10-06-2003 01:36 AM

I had a good look in Tylers car on saturday,.. its coming along quite nicely! they were working on some ecu stuff when i was in.
But most of everything else looks done. Very nice clean work.

I have to wait until midweek to get my car back from there. damn it

Nightwalker 10-06-2003 01:52 AM

Hopefully Tyler's car is ready when we get there later this morning, I'm giving him a ride. :)

BTW, got a few temp pages up just to something is there:
http://www.islandrx7.tk

;)

t0mmy 10-06-2003 08:11 AM

680cc injectors off GSL's. They're of low impedence so it'll work on all 86-87 cars. Mine's a s4 TII. Basically looking for secondary 680's now and when I get mypiggy back in and ready to get it dyno tuned I'll swap the 680's to primaries and have bigger secondaries to maintain some sort of gas milage.
