CanadianRX7 08-19-2002 11:05 AM

well i know bcty was talking about dropping a TII engine in there..a year would be a good time to do that..start at the begining of next summer when u have the cash...do it!!!!!!!

bcty 08-19-2002 12:08 PM

i have a connection in Vancouver at Rotary motorsports... i was think turbo my car insted of dropping a T2 engine in.. they do conversions there... everything balanced.. type 2 stat gears.. scatter blankets and 12,000rpm :) im planning it out for what ill need now... :) theres a good side.. they take my licence my car get faster... hmm or they could let me keep it and it will slowly get there.. up to them... :) (DROOL) 12,000rpm..........

CanadianRX7 08-19-2002 12:29 PM

i would either street port or which ever your n/a or i would drop a TII engine in..I would rather keep my n/a a n/a instead of putting a turbo on...u will have limited power with that..go streetport, bridgeport or TII motor

13b swap in 1st gens are so damn easy.I should know did it all myself.Still have to add more to my sig.:agree: I need another 1st gen to build. This time maybe use a downdraft carb instead.:D I might sell this one and buy one from alberta for 1000-1400 and scrap the 12a yet again and sell it for the price of a 13b(Stupid people here don't know what they're worth). Not too sure yet I might keep this one.

Rx racer 08-21-2002 01:12 AM

Here's some links for you guys J-spec tails 13BT Swap Mariah Body kits Badass! Fastest Street Legal 1st gen(FD powered!!!!)

EightTrack 08-21-2002 01:16 AM

Alright guys, I'm drunk and have been thinking (run for your lives!!!).

Am I wasting my time and money with my rex? Should I start dumping tons of cash into it or should I get it payed off ASAP and start looking for something else?

If I keep the rex a street port is a must down the road, otherwise I've gotta move on.

Whadda you think?

Are you leaving your 2nd gen modded for your gf???Nice to see some people still like the first gens(Prolly the best looking interiors). So are you referring to me about being happy????I am very happy there is too many first gens on RS just a few.Make sure you get 81-85's they're all pretty much the same except 81-85 use 4x110 wheels(rare to find nice ones)unless you use GSL-SE Brakes with 4 wheel discs.84 and 85 also came with power steering.Next time I'm looking for a 81-83 GSL if I sell mine they come with factory limited slip and everything is pretty much the same.Other than that let me know what you find and if you need any info just let me know.I'll be happy to help.

I'd say pay it off and go from there. It's always nice to be debt free.:agree:

Rx racer 08-21-2002 01:36 AM

Hey Bcty this just showed up on RS.Not too bad but a bit pricy because of the milage and work need(my 13b has 136,000 kms on it) 85 Rx you'll prolly want to remove the A/C and power steering and smog pump for more power too.and remove the ACV(air control valve)if you take the pump out.:agree:

EightTrack 08-21-2002 03:05 PM

Is the problem with 2nd gen airbox's that there isn't enough cold air getting to it or is it the design of the box itself?

I figure I can whip up some $2 system to get more cold air to the box, but if it's the box that's the problem I'll just wait and do something with a cone filter.

Rx racer 08-22-2002 12:09 AM

Here is a nice kit.A bit pricy but looks good.:agree: FB light conversion kit

bcty 08-22-2002 09:31 PM

spend 50-70$ and get a cone filter.. you can do a cold air like me or draft something up i had a cold air coming from behind before.. it worked good but i slao had one coming from the front.. they both cooled really well but when i stopped then the temps went back up to normal (which licks ass :) ) just get a dont filter.. its a good place to start if you dont wanna fork out the $$$ for the sxhaust right now.. :)

EightTrack 08-22-2002 09:59 PM

Yeah, I'll just do the cone. I'll be doing the exhaust ASAP though. Hopefully within a month at the very latest.

Rx racer 08-23-2002 12:51 AM

Hey Bcty you should check out the links if your looking into building a first gen.:agree: Someone is selling his 85 with new paint on RS.check it out in the sports cars forum.Once I sell mine I getting a new project FB 7
