Maybe in a civic. But this is a rotary.Tops speeds are its specialty

Rx racer 08-04-2002 03:47 AM

Has anyone checked out the forums at www.nopistons.com ????They have some cool info there.:agree:

NashMan 08-04-2002 04:35 AM

the max speed you can get whiht your gearing is 175 mph
but that takes alot of power to do that and the gears int eh rex are really crappy i find

most likly why they did this is to save on gas that is the only thing i can think of

all be nice and give you 200 hp and you will only get 147 mph
that still not up to the speed your bragging about

math does not lie in less you found big i mean big hill

your rex has no turq to push thous gears that are stock that why i find em so funky

now read below

stock setup whith 4.10 you will hit 129 mph this is on level ground
stock setup whith 4.30 you will hit 130 mph this is on level ground

my car will hit 148 whiht my gearing i hit 150 to my speedo

but as you speed incress you speedo goes off about 10 to 20 klich in less it cumpter controled thing ti will be all ways perfect

you can flame me all you want be it is the turth

play grand turismoe if you do not beleaiv me and put your gearing in and you will find out

hell do some math and you will find out

4.30 is better rear end by long shot for you cars caues there gear is to crazy but you gas milage will suffer

bcty 08-04-2002 10:56 AM

i had a slight downhill and a long ways to do it.. my car took a few secs to get there but i think that was the max... :) seriously though it was way off the gauge :)

DC450 08-04-2002 11:32 AM

Nashman, thanks for takin the time to reply. Made some good sense, but how many times must you be told, this is an rx7 forum, thanks for tellin us we have no torque, and thanks for lettin us know how fast your supra can go. But please, this is an RX7 forum, and there are quite a few people that are tired of reading about supra's!

Gen4TurboCiv 08-04-2002 11:35 AM

My friend's got an FD with some mods and it will have a time getting to 260 kph. Sorry for the scepticism, but it seems too fast for an NA rotary. That's all.:)

NashMan 08-04-2002 01:11 PM

i brought up my gear ratio you dumb ass what has that got to do whiht me talkign about supar's

as i said befor i never bring up my dame car and brag in any way how fast it is

175mph is posilbe but getting up there take very long time in less on hill caues the car whould never reach thous speed on flat groud

that i find whould be the best for the rex na is the turbo trans whith the 4.30 rear end whould help alot hell it make that car pretty mean if you ask me

but the qestion is will it blot up my guess is yes it will

oh yae greg last night was fun got to love spare set of tires i wish i had a pair

maybe i duck tape yours on my car hehehehe

EightTrack 08-04-2002 01:21 PM

All he's saying is you manage to mention your supra in just about every single post, and it gets a little annoying. Wether or not you realize it it sounds like you are constantly comparing the 2 and you always make it sound like the RX-7 comes up short.

Yes last night was a blast. God bless a pair of old phone dials and a good amount of rain. :)

CanadianRX7 08-04-2002 02:16 PM

well nashmans "theory" is off...he forgot to put the weight of the car in there...weight and areodynamics are also hugr factors when trying to reach your top speed along with gearing...gearing isnt the only thing though...

WTF r u rx7's boys talking about...so far i have only got 220km/h in 4th at redline and in my old car i got 210km/h in 4th redline again in my n/a.....u guys either need to get your speedo's checked and/or change or u need to stop lying!!!!!!!!!!

150mp/h could be achieved in a stock TII with a long straight and flat strech...a n/a could probably fetch 135 mp/h stock!...

also post this on rx7club.com and they will laugh at u like this hahhahah :lol

NashMan 08-04-2002 02:19 PM

but the qestion is will the turbo trans bolt up to the na block

and are the trans the same size caues if not you will have to get new drive shaft and when you do that you go alloy hehehe

and the 4.30 will have ot be put in to to compete the sweet grear ratio

but as i said be for you gass will suffer

the cool thing about the turbo trans is the 5th gear will not burn as much gas as if you where to use the na trans it not huge btu it is there

Neo 08-04-2002 03:42 PM

I just read a bunch of the post's in here. Some interesting info all in all, although some people need spell check and punctuation lessons...jaysus...for a sec I though someone was actually referring to btu's, but they really just meant "but".

DC450 08-04-2002 03:46 PM

spelling

Yeah, hey i didn't say how fast my car went. I'm not lyin about anything

And the spelling, yeah that would be nashman. Always talking about his supra.

NashMan 08-04-2002 04:09 PM

i don't get this i do talk about my car i never tell you when it is broke or stuff like that i just use it as a compareson

if i had chevvett i whould use it to compare

as well

get the picture

ps both car are in the same class so they are easy to compare

Yeah, one car is a boat and one is not. http://www.f1racing.net/ubb/graemlins/teeth.gif

EightTrack 08-04-2002 04:38 PM

:agree: :agree: :agree: :agree:

NashMan 08-04-2002 06:33 PM

the supra is not boat it just big for it's size hehehe

but in real life the size diff is about 1 foot or so

EightTrack 08-04-2002 06:41 PM

Boat refers to both size and weight.

CanadianRX7 08-04-2002 06:55 PM

Both cars are in the same class?!?! what a fucking SPORTS CAR!!!
wow thats some amazing info...u are one hell of a researcher...

also the n/a and TII have different drive train so they MIGHT have different size tranny's......

GEAR RATIO"S GET THEM RIGHT
all lsd models
86-88 n/a 4.33 or 4.10 (2 different lsd)
89-92 n/a 4.10 GTUs n/a 4.33

Im pretty sure the n/a and TII's have the same gear ratios..i will check up on that

bcty 08-04-2002 10:46 PM

they do.. and its 4.30 not 4.33 i think.. i have a pic somewhere.. hold a sec...

bcty 08-04-2002 10:53 PM
