I would love to hear about your review.
I went there last night, it was ok. It was packed with tons of people and a lot of 30-40 yr old age group. Menu was decent for a lounge / dinner setting. I didnt' think the menu was too diverse but it's do-able but nothing to rave about.
The food did take a long time but they gave us some salmon flat bread (which was just laying there on a side table before I walk in) but it was still nice.
i had the mussels and it was decent not as good as Chambar but it was still good at 17 dollars.
the service was great, the decor was decent but it's a very very jam packed restaurant. i need to go back to give a better review.
The lounge downstairs and the king crab |
wow where do i start, oh i kno, it was the worst meal/dining experience ive had in vancouver to date.
Arrived at our table with menus bigger then a small baking pan (and if u think im kidding go see lol) so the menu doesnt allow two people to read it without it being annoying, (drink menu same size, wow) my chef always said if a restaurant gets something like the menu horrible wrong its always gonna get worse before it gets better.
Server arrives, passes us off to someone whose never served there before (Ive worked enough in restaurants to know that cant fucking slide) and what does he do, ring in all our food all at once, horay! nothing like getting my appy with my dinner.... So its all gotta go back, crab cake was pathetic, their suppose to be crispy light and flakey, with a touch of citrus to kill the fat from the batter. why was it creamy inside?
And i had a bad feeling cause the kitchen look like a poorly run group that i was gonna get my food back cold and not properly re heated, well.... i was right (and moments later u can hear the chef yelling across the restaurant, for people not the industry, unless ur chef is also the proprietor, that bullshit doesn't slide)
So our mains arrived and were sad, we decided to wait for our server to show up so we could speak to the manager. He never came back so i ate my soup with a fork lol. finally a bartender arrived, to see what was the matter, we told him of our displeasure of the service and food, he decided to give us drinks (which was the only positive of the night, they were good)and find the manager. Finally the manager arrives to tell us the bill was on him and that he was sorry for the lack of service. But here is the worst part of this debacle , and why, i will never step place in a Glowbal franchise restaurant again, half way between his apology he stops talking to us, and starts talking to his partner about business cards. At that point once he stepped away i knew it was time to leave as fast as possible. As we we were leaving he stopped and said oh we have a dessert coming out, (my hugest pet peeve, if u fuck up my food, last thing i wanna do is stay longer and fill up on ur awful dessert) and he hands me his card and says if u ever need to come on a friday just call, well at least he left me with a good laugh.
ps sorry for the improper grammar, its hard to type well when ur pissed off lol
