^ hahaha what forum is that chicagoblackhawks.com in that replay you see him get hit pretty damn hard with that follow through and bit his lip to make himself bleed ahahahah thats a joke what else he punched himself in the mouth for the tooth falling out effect? Wellwood played a monsterous game he is very smart with the puck and very responsible defensively. The canucks dominated most of that game they got confident and tried to sit on a lead which you cannot do in the playoffs lets hope for a better closing period in game 2

The wager has been set. Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson and Chicago Mayor Richard Daley have made a friendly bet on this series. If the Canucks win, Robertson gets a couple bottles of red sangria, some Polish sausage, two dozen cupcakes and a case of cheese. Should the Blackhawks win, Daley gets a bunch of Olympic gear, chocolates and smoked B.C. salmon.

Hockey fans these days are dumber than they were when I was growing up. Do arena announcers really need to announce to the audience that the home team is on the power play? Where's the respect for national anthems? Or, what about fans complaining about every hit that their players take, even if most are clean? /rant

Anyway, I'm glad that a guy like Kyle Wellwood has a chance to show what he can do. He always had the talent, but the folks over in Toronto did not provide him with an environment where he could take his game to the next level. Even Don Cherry has a hard-on for him (but probably because he doesn't wear a visor) - you can't beat that.

I'll take flak for what I said, lol. Just to reiterate, I would've rode the team from STL into Rd2 Gm1; well it's a moot point now because we won.

Here's another one for you guys: I don't want Pyatt to return because imo he might effect team chemistry.

Edit: Wellwood's a warrior.

I think credit should go to The Fox for this one. I don't know if you guys listen to the Fox but they impersonated Mayor Robertson in Game 1 to set up a bet with STL's mayor..but nothing materialized and I would assume The Office of the Mayor got wind of this and just did it as a preempt to avoid more impersonations by Scottie lol.

Fox Rocks.

This is very true most fans just watch the game and have no clue about what they are watching it annoys me to no end when people copmplain about a big clean hit saying that it was dirty. its mostly the bandwagon jumpers who are less knowledgeable about the game that compain about things like that.
GO CANUCKS GO

I hate reading ppl thinking they are a better hockey fan than anyone else... Does it really bother you that the announcer announce that we are on the powerplay? perhaps get the crowd going and cheering.

You should also add that everyone now wants to sign wellwood after getting the bashing throughout the season. that's canucks fans for you man..no need to rant about it anymore haha.

. maybe i'm just used to it after all these years.

Anyways, I don't know why but I seem to like Eager's play for some reason.. he's fast,fights,agitates,hits.. I know we have hordi/rypper but he just stands out more.

IMO, Pyatt or even Hansen will add some skill/scoring touch to that 4th line. Hordi seems to be frustrated out there b/c no one wants to fight him so he seems to run around, which led to his dumb penalty.

Might want to brace yourself for some Homerisms...

Burrows still looks a little nervous out there..

edit: Truth, Hordichuck doesn't really seem to have much of a role in these playoffs..

DanHibiki 05-01-2009 12:15 PM

Hordi is in it for the toughness as they anticipate it will be a rough series against Chicago. Ofcourse yesterday's game didn't pan on that way and if it continues like that (which i doubt will), then Hordi will be COMPLETELY useless.

Against a team like Detroit, I assume he won't be playing at all.

Yah, I was in the Honda Center back in 2006 to watch a VAN-ANA game, and when I heard the announcer say "we're on the power play!", I had one heck of a wtf moment. Are the fans really that dumb?

Free tee time for the Chicago Blackhawks
Pemberton golf course offering golf carts as well
Sonia Aslam/Jim Goddard PEMBERTON (NEWS1130) | Friday, May 1st, 2009 4:22 pm

PEMBERTON (NEWS1130) - Calling on all Chicago Blackhawks, time to tee-off!

The owners of the Meadows at Pemberton Golf Course are offering all 2008-2009 Chicago Blackhawk players free unrestricted full play memberships at their course.

They say the Hawks have had the misfortune of having to play one of the hottest teams in the NHL, the Vancouver Canucks, during the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. That could mean an abrupt end to their hockey season but early beginning to their golf season.

Gordon Bell with the course says he doesn't expect to see the Canucks for some time. "Our local hockey heroes are always welcomed here at the Meadows golf club, but they're not going to have any time for golf until probably the beginning of July. So we figured we take care of the poor souls that get in their way." He says there are many BC players on the Blackhawks and he expects some of them to take up his offer.

Bell says as a gesture of consolation and sympathy, the owners of the Meadows will have power carts available for the emotionally distraught Hawks and all victims of Willie Mitchell hits.

Game two of the series goes Saturday at 6 p.m. at GM Place
:D
