It did, no question about it. At the time of the hit, he was at the top of the NHL in scoring, I think both goals and points and then everything just went absolutely downhill for him

Naslund is still one of my favorite Canucks, best of luck to him.

civicyvr 05-03-2009 12:22 PM

We will miss Salo for sure! Now with the new D pairings it will throw things off. His point shot will be missed also.

Luongo's been ordinary this series. I can see this series going to a game 7.

I thought he would at least go for 400 goals. He's just 5 away.

Err...I thought that teams with retiring players are still on the hook for their salary?

ahah
this does not surprise me one bit

he looked ok this year...but it kinda just flattened out near the end sorta like his nucks tenure. Regardless, Nazzy isnt all too popular back home. I do believe i read somewhere when he was still a canuck that he owes his parents in law a year back in sweden or something, or was it that he wanted his kids to grow up in sweden.

anyone confirm those last statements?

Salo is good but seriously is he worth keeping around in the coming years if he can't go through any season and series without getting hurt?

Out with Salo
In with Scott Niedermayer

InvisibleSoul 05-03-2009 10:30 PM

All three teams that started the playoffs 5-0 (Canucks, Red Wings, and Bruins) lost their 6th game...

No way would he sign in Vancouver. He, like Selanne, will retire a Duck.

trancehead 05-03-2009 11:26 PM

^Why a duck? Scott's relatively new with them anyways
He is a BC boy too.
