Werd. Kinda sucks when you see the Chicago roster so intact. Canucks aren't going to win this on skill as Chicago has the edge on that I believe. What the Canucks have the edge on is team toughness but it sucks watching that we're more hurt than they are.

WE SHOULD BE INFLICTING PAIN!!!

Canucks

Defenceman Sami Salo will not play in Game 3, and he continues to be listed as day to day. - TSN

Pavol Demitra didn't skate today. Head coach Alain Vigneault called it a maintenance day and that "in theory", Demitra should be available for Game 3. In practice, Mason Raymond skated on the Kesler/Sundin line in place of Demitra and Taylor Pyatt replaced Raymond on the 3rd line. - TSN

According to a report, Mats Sundin is playing the series against the Blackhawks with a sprained MCL in his right knee. - The Globe and Mail

Blackhawks

Along with battling the flu, Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews may also have a 'significant shoulder injury' according to a report. Toews reportedly can barely raise one of his arms. - Globe and Mail

Samuel Pahlsson was the only player who did not skate at practice on Monday. Head coach Joel Quenneville says that he will play in Game 3 on Tuesday. - Globe and Mail

Well injuries doomed the Flames....hopefully it doesn't doom the Canucks.

Heres that SI article on the sedins!

Hilarious that AV can't tell them apart.

I've probably said it before, but I've supported the twins since the beginning. Sad to see that not too many people sport their jerseys. Hopefully when they re-sign, that will change.

cressydrift 05-04-2009 04:37 PM

Fuck Demitra. Its better that Raymond is filling his position and Pyatt is now on the 3rd. I disagree with AV's lines right now. Sedins are getting shut down big time. Time to bring out the SSS Sedin Sundin Sedin. Put Kesler Burrows and Johnson together to shut down the big line and pray to god lines 3-4 dont fuck up.

I also hope that they are listening to Death Metal right now and getting pumped. Dont give up even if it gets to 3-1 Blackhawks.

Once during the twins' second season, when Henrik was kicked out of a face-off circle, he skated around and went back to take the draw without the linesman being the wiser.

:haha:

Harvey Specter 05-04-2009 05:10 PM

Wow, people have already given up on the Canucks (not directed to anyone in this thread) because they lost their 1st game in 8. Fucking sad.

By the way, do you guys think the canucks will retire number 19?

stuff99 05-04-2009 05:13 PM

Naslund should've just retired as a Canuck.

Hondaracer 05-04-2009 05:23 PM

Naslund should be in the rafters before Smyl

imo Smyl should be taken down it makes us look like a joke.

Naslund probably wont be retired just because it will make the franchise look like we award mediocrity

Harvey Specter 05-04-2009 05:28 PM

I still think Naslunds heart was with the Canucks and he never wanted to leave. I still remember how upset he looked during the last game of the 2008 season when everyone was cheering for Linden.

They probably will... unless Hodgson really wants it ;)

That's a pretty strong statement. IMHO, Smyl was a damn hard working player. Tough as nails. Did you watch him play as a Canuck from day one or just watch the tail end of his stint with the Canucks?

I could say the same thing about Naslund if I only watched the last year or so of his stay here in Vancouver.

Anyway, enough people respected and loved Smyl, and Linden alike, that I'm not worried about the validity of my statements.

68style 05-04-2009 07:52 PM

IMO only Linden should be in the rafters.

Smyl never went anywhere with any team and his point totals don't constitute it... if we awarded jersey raisings for every player that was popular Ronning, Odjick, Adams and a host of others would be up there.

I agree with hondaracer... Smyl being up there is a little bit embarrassing compared to the rest of the league... he didn't even come through when we needed him against Calgary on the breakaway like Bure did but Bure will never have his number retired because of the way he left
