Well if you want to compare players to the rest of the league, Linden wasn't that great either. Never a point per game player and the amount of good years was few. No cup.

It's about what they meant to the city of Vancouver, not the league.

Harvey Specter 05-04-2009 08:32 PM

I think the Canucks should retire Naslunds number.

People can find all the bad things to say about him but he did a lot of good things for the team. Sure we didn't win the cup or advance pass the 2nd round during his time here but you can't brush his impressive stats over 11 years with the team including his work within the community like owning a private box for years so unprivilege and sick kids could come down and watch the games.

IMO only Linden should be in the rafters.

Smyl never went anywhere with any team and his point totals don't constitute it... if we awarded jersey raisings for every player that was popular Ronning, Odjick, Adams and a host of others would be up there.

I agree with hondaracer... Smyl being up there is a little bit embarrassing compared to the rest of the league... he didn't even come through when we needed him against Calgary on the breakaway like Bure did but Bure will never have his number retired because of the way he left

It's about heart and soul of the team. Points mean shit, really. Players like Bure were exciting to watch and it was great, but there's more to it than that. Anyway, I'm not here to argue. Enough people like me embraced Linden and Smyl. You guys can squawk and beak all you want. This is, afterall, RS. Nuff Said.

I agree that naslund should have his name up there. Why would anybody criticize the other names that are up there along side his? Smyl deserves to be up there. Fans my age appreciated him, so you blokes need to back off.

Again, people say whatever in here and to argue it is pointless, I guess.

god bless...........

I agree, Naslund should have his number retired, he was an icon on and off the ice, always gave back to the community. Its a shame he left on such a low note.

Not Advancing past the 2nd round should be blamed on Cloutier more so than Naslund. We had the series against Minnesota. Up 3 games to 1, then had a fairly comfortable lead in game 7 but Cloutier choked and gave up several softies in the 3rd to lose the series. Naslund had 14 pts in 14 games that year, but you're not going to get anywhere when your goalie gives up 15 goals in game 5,6,7.

i heard Canucks' ticket price is highest if not second highest in the whole league from team1040.

murd0c 05-05-2009 09:43 AM

^ they were talking about playoff ticket pricing

hotjoint 05-05-2009 10:18 AM

everything here is expensive, i've learned just to deal with it. If I could find $50 lowerbowl seats that would be like winning the lottery.

3seriesBeeM 05-05-2009 10:20 AM

we do have the highest playoff ticket pricing but we still sell out every game. if people are willing to buy at that price why lower it, you make more profit.

MR_BIGGS 05-05-2009 11:06 AM

Alright - 5 hours from Game 3! Let's get jacked people!

Team 1040 poll had almost 55-60 % ppl saying Canucks should play a trap style ---

I'm up for the whole play the perfect road game..-but full out trap?? come on!

Canucks going to come out and have a good start...I was at Gm 1 and 2...anyone know whose doing the colour and lay by play?? Is it jim hughson and craig simpson still? I hope so1

mugenrsx 05-05-2009 11:08 AM

you say like as if you're proud

It's called gouging...Vancouverites has on of the highest cost of living...gas, housing, grocery etc...so it seems right to inflate hockey ticket prices...I dunno how the average family can afford $200 each for hockey tickets.

Hondaracer 05-05-2009 11:56 AM

Regular season tickets will also be the highest in the league starting next year

Durrann1984 05-05-2009 12:12 PM

trap is a trap, the canucks might have to in order to contain the speed the hawks have. so far tho in the playoffs where teams trap to contain the speed of the opposition have failed. Best example, the bruins vs the canes in game2

and it will be hughson the whole way for the nucks

Harvey Specter 05-05-2009 01:27 PM

Why couldn't the game start at 6!??!?!

DanHibiki 05-05-2009 01:58 PM

We need a pest on our team. We need Burrows to step up and be a pest again and throw the team off their game. So far Chicago has the upper hand on that with Byfugly.
