I used to work there too, shitty ass place, originally we didn't have a proper wooden spoon with a long handle to stir the spices into the tomato sauce so whoever was making it would just rinse off their arm and then stick them whole arm in there to stir it around. most people used soap but even still that's bit of arm hair and dead skin coming off in there.

Im not going to get into a big discussion, but just go around in toronto car forms, they swear by this guy (audio heaven) i have gotten work done on my car thr also. and i took my alarm that i bought off ebay and got him to install, no complains.
PS. i have used 2 models of compustar, both US , and both had good range, ..infact, my last car had backup siren/with backup batt. all included for install

Its the same point, the market over in Toronto can be slightly different due to the area being much bigger, more people, and probably more shops = more competitive.

And why on earth would I go around Toronto car forums? They aren't going to be much help in terms of actually getting stuff installed. I got some stuff for much cheaper when I was on a road trip in Cali, should I be driving back there all the time for installs???

Nobody was questioning the ability of the guy who installed your stuff in Toronto, but arguing about his prices/quality installs is really pointless.

It is a well-known fact that US Compustars are coming out of Toronto all the time...either on Ebay or through local stores. We have guys coming into our shop with these alarms and we can tell right away that they are US alarms. Yeah, they got them for cheap but they aren't the same thing. Yes, they work 100%. I know my PRO will work from 4-5 blocks away and through 4 floors of my condo. I can't say the same for the US alarms. The PRO alarms in Canada use a US military frequency which is why the range is HUGE and its not available in the US.

Do you think we make ridiculous amounts of money installing these alarms? If you do, you need to give your head a shake. We do them for cheaper than we should be doing them for and still offer superior installations. Saying that high quality small shops are ripping people off is an insult to me and my installers. If I was ripping people off I would be driving a nicer car than an '03 Civic.

When I was a prep cook at White Spot I once chopped the tip of my finger off (worked 12 hr days starting at 5 a.m. for 10-12 days in a row at a time and most nights I didn't get in 'till 3 a.m. haha)...anyways...whoever took over from me when I got taken to the hospital used the pile of chicken I was chopping (instead of throwing it out)...which means someone ate the tip of my finger...

It reminded me, however, of a good thing that happened to my buddy...his '08 Honda Fit was recalled 'cuz of a broken trim piece around the e-brake handle...when they fixed it, they found his iPod (which he thought he lost weeks, if not months, before). When they returned the car to him, not only was the trim piece fixed, the iPod was sitting on his passenger seat. Props to them for being completely honest...if they pocketed it, my buddy would NEVER have known...

most of us know about futureshop. if you've done any type of business before, you know that you get a much bigger discount buying in volume, direct sourcing, than buying 1 piece. consider futureshop, same guys that own bestbuy, have that much pull, need to buy that much inventory for all their stores, im sure they can get anything at a huge deep discount. they then turn around and sell it at market price. something that costs 10 cents to them, and sells at 20 bucks, means crazy percentage profit, but also means only $19.90 to cover the overhead of the store.

audio installs. there is a reason why shops have return customers. bottom line, im not letting some fucktard highschool kid touch my car. i go to seasons vets that know their shit. thats where the price difference comes in. there is a reason why big named department stores charge minimum for labour installs. at the end of the day, they dont care about return customers, to you, you are just a customer #. shops like soundsgood, soundsworks. lifetime warranty, and are straight up.

btw, compare the price of computer parts at BestBuy, FS, Staples, etc with places like NCIX or Anitec. You will see a big difference. Sometimes you will see video cards and speakers going for almost $100 more expensive.

it's in Kelowna, so you don't have to worry, although they're all cheap as fuck hiring 15-16 year old kids for $6 an hour and always sending people home early. when I worked there they gave me Friday and Saturday 5-9pm, but would always send me home early, keep in mind I was 15 at the time. technically though, I don't think we're legally allowed to go out back to throw out garbage past dark anyways.
