I agree with you 100 percent. Do people forget that Michael Jordan won 6 championships, of which there were TWO 3-peats as champions? LUL

Can you imagine if MJ did not retire during 1994 to 1995? He could have won even more than 6 rings.

Not even LBJ can say he won 3 straight championships TWICE in his career right now. :troll:

He's definitely not as tough physically or mentally as MJ. Jordan won one of his championship rings against Utah while playing with the flu in one game. That flu game was an epic performance by MJ. An NBA Finals classic.

Not to mention the league seemed a lot more balanced back then. The East was so much better than it is today. And there were none of this super team bullshit.

Obsideon 06-21-2016 05:31 PM

If the Warriors played the '94 Knicks in the Finals, they would have won game 1 by a blowout but Curry and Klay would have been carried out on stretchers and then lose the next 4 games lol.
I am on the same boat as some (most) of you in that I really lost a lot of respect for LBJ for the "Decision" but looking at this (and last finals) you can't help but admit he is the best player on the planet right now. Pure monster. Almost averaged a triple double, and I honestly wanted him to win MVP last year, how he managed to win 2 games with 4 dishwasher starters on his team last year was superhuman.

No doubt this was a huge win for LeBron and his legacy, but some people are taking this overboard with his all time status.

Its funny that many people think LeBron > Kobe after he won his 3rd ring....... maybe after another 3 rings he can be considered better.

Arguments that matter:

5 vs 3 rings (I know this is not the ONLY stat that matters, but it is most important. Regardless of what people say... legends are measured by winning championships.)

5 for 7 vs 3 for 7 finals record

12 Vs 5 selections in the All Defensive Teams

..... and killer instinct

how soon people forget how great the Black Mamba was in his prime... no comparison

EDawg 06-21-2016 10:57 PM

the LBJ and Kobe debates will go on forever

yes kobe has been named to more all-NBA and all-defensive teams, but lebron still has at least a few more good years ahead of him

lebron is already a 4-time league MVP, Kobe only had one MVP title

Lebron has also won finals MVP in all 3 of his championships which i think proves he had less help than Kobe

Kobe had Shaq for the 3peat years, but lebron has pretty much been doing it by himself since coming home to Cleveland. No doubt Kyrie was a difference maker this year but the Cavs Big 3 has been nowhere as good as people thought

177 06-21-2016 11:20 PM

Yes LeBron has more MVPS but that stat is not a huge factor in legacy statements as it was proven this year with Stephen Curry and his Unanimous voting... sometimes the MVP doesn't mean anything to players, as they would rather win a ring.
It doesn't look like LeBron is going to get on any more all defensive teams as he is aging and he hasn't gotten one in a while.

Yes Kobe had help but so did LeBron for all of his championship wins, he teamed up with 2 superstars in Miami and Cleveland. Yes LeBron did do a lot of the heavy lifting but he got HUGE help from Kyrie the whole playoffs and he was an absolute KILLER in game 7. Love played a garbage series but he stepped up in game 7 also.

Ultimately it comes down to one stat that matters, which is rings because that is what defines legends.

You do realize LeBron still has another 7 seasons left in the tank AT LEAST (prob more since he's one of the most fit players in the league). Also you must think Robert Horry is better than Kobe since he got 2 more rings. No one is forgetting about Kobe in his prime, but most people are thinking logically and comparing the two based on the outlook of LeBron's career; not at the moment. And even at the moment, you have the case that he's not far away from Kobe. Just to clarify, I hate both Kobe and LeBron.

Two trades before the draft tomorrow.
3 Teamer
Utah - George Hill
Indy - Jeff Teague
Atl - #12 Overall pick tomorrow.

2 Teamer
Bulls - Robin Lopez, Calderon, Grant
Knicks - D. Rose and a 2nd Round Pick

Ronin 06-22-2016 12:26 PM

Robert Horry was one of the clutchest guys ever.

Verdasco 06-22-2016 12:59 PM

I still think Kobe could of still played but he wanted to die as a laker and his team isnt getting anywhere lol

imagine a superteam with kobe and LBJ..... get love and his 20+mill contract out and replace that with Kobe :lawl:

dachinesedude 06-22-2016 01:42 PM

not a bad move for the knicks since they didn't give up much and drose only has one year left on his contract, if only he can return to his 2011 form...

iVTEC_Do_You? 06-22-2016 02:09 PM

Melo, Rose, .....Dwight? LOL, 2012 EC All-Stars

EDawg 06-22-2016 02:14 PM

Indiana should be a team to watch next season with PG13 and Teague

Verdasco 06-22-2016 02:44 PM

lets see how the knicks do next season.. im interest on drose pick up...

Obsideon 06-22-2016 06:38 PM

Great trade by the Knicks!

They gave away nothing for a former MVP superstar who is still only 28. Even Rose playing on 1 leg is an upgrade at the point. Yes former, but this is the healthiest he's been the last few years, and NY literally gave up nothing to nab him. Serviceable average big man in Robin, 35 year old journeyman Calderon and an under-performing rookie in Grant? They got back a 2nd too.
Reports that they will sign Joakim Noah, so essentially they swapped similar bigs and got a free Derrick Rose in the process.

Not sure how much better they will be statistically but I'm definitely more excited to watch them today than I was yesterday haha, Rose, Melo and Porz!
DO NOT pick up D12, he will fuck up Porzingis's development, he was a bitch in Houston demanding more touches from Harden, it ain't gonna change in NY. Noah will be a much better fit for cheaper, he can set a great example for Porz with his relentless energy, work ethic and defense without screwing up the offensive flow and growth.

Best of all Rose is on his last year of his contract so worse case he flames out and it frees up cap next year or can re-sign for lower cuz no way he is a max player now. Robin Lopez is locked in at 13.8m for the next 3 years! No idea what the Bulls are thinking... unless the little used Jerian Grant (who is more famous for being Horace Grant's nephew) turns out to be a sleeper stud??

Nlkko 06-22-2016 06:53 PM

If I'm a contender, I'm staying the fuck away from D12. Cancerous motherfucker sitting on his last leg just want to fuck around and get paid.

Also rose fit questionable 2 high usage players in him and Melo.

hotjoint 06-22-2016 08:48 PM

Lebron will be #2 behind MJ once his career is over

This pretty much sums up Dwight.

Westbrook and KD pulled it off, I'm not as skeptical as before regarding this point.

More trade rumours today:

76ers are trying hard to get the no. 3 pick from the Celtics.

Noel or Okafor are the subject of trade talks:

Philadelphia 76ers in hot pursuit of Boston Celtics' No. 3 pick

The Philadelphia 76ers are increasing their efforts to acquire the No. 3 pick from the Boston Celtics in Thursday night's NBA draft, league sources tell ESPN.

Numerous rivals described the 76ers as the most active team in circulation, with a trade involving Nerlens Noel looking more and more likely.

The Sixers, as ESPN first reported earlier this month, also have been aggressively trying to move Jahlil Okafor and, according to sources, are prepared to trade either Okafor or Noel -- or both -- to meet their draft objectives.

MJ trash talk will forever make him no. 1 getting into opponents head.

Lebron flops to get I'm refs head

Rumor has it Lebron move back to Miami
