Excellent trade for Raps.
They are in win-now mode, a Clippers 1st isn't gonna move the needle within the next 2-3 years at least, if at all. It made sense in a lot of ways. Powell is developing nicely and minutes behind Derozan without Ross should help get him more in the groove.
Ross IMO was never anything special and easily replaceable, yes he exploded for 50 once but he is very inconsistent.
Ibaka finally gives them a versatile and solid starting PF playing beside JV. Patterson will very much improve the bench, he is solid but not good enough to compete with the other 4s in the league.
Only issue now is come Summer, both Lowry and Ibaka will be looking for huge contracts, will Toronto go deep into luxury tax to keep them or let 1 walk? If Ibaka turns out to be a half year rental it would really suck lol.

I'm excited to see them battle it out with Washington and Celtics now. They are that much closer to the Cavs.

Slam dunk contest was so boring, I nearly fell asleep watching it part way. Actually stopped watching it before the end, never seen such boring dunks. No creativity and power.

i thought it was good.

Derrick Jones jr and Glenn Robinson put on a show :ahwow:

Gordon was a disappointment with that foot injury

Obsideon 02-18-2017 11:24 PM

IMO the 3pt contest was more exciting than the dunk contest

Demarcus Cousins traded to Pelicans for Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, and some picks!!!!111!!!1111111!

roflwaffle604 02-19-2017 08:44 PM

HOLY FUCK!! LITERALLY SITTING HERE SHOCKED RIGHT NOW. BOOGIE + AD??!!?!

dachinesedude 02-19-2017 09:49 PM

holy, what a retarded trade for the kings, what the hell were they thinking?

davis + cousins gonna be the new twin towers, cant wait!

Euro7r 02-19-2017 09:55 PM

I thought Divac wasn't going to trade Cousins lol.

pastarocket 02-20-2017 04:31 AM

Great trade for New Orleans. The Kings gets fleeced by the Pelicans. :lawl:

pastarocket 02-20-2017 11:44 AM

The Kings trade of Cousins to New Orleans is mainly about removing a dark cloud over this franchise that DeMarcus symbolized with his terrible attitude and temper.

Is he talented? No doubt. Shaq also called this guy out for being a hothead, for not being a leader. You hear from some coaches around the league that Cousins is "uncoachable", that he's a player who does whatever he wants on offense. Post up to score down low, or shoot 3 pointers.

A coach killer. A F-bomb throwing player who would swear at fans and yell at teammates. He leads the league in technical fouls too with sixteen.

This trade was Sacramento management's way of telling DeMarcus that enough was enough.

If things work out well with Cousins and Anthony Davis, they're a force to be reckoned with in the front court for the Pelicans. If not, Cousins could just walk away from New Orleans by not signing a contract extension.

It will be interesting to see how or if DeMarcus can incorporate his playing style with coach Gentry's fast paced system of play on offence.

Deadline is tomorrow at noon.
Lots of speculation this year with PG13, Butler, Drummond and many others in the rumour mill. I hope it's not all talk, let's see the fireworks after the bomb that was Cousins lol!

I want to see:
Melo to Clippers
Butler to Celtics

Nlkko 02-23-2017 06:31 AM

Cousin is cancer imo, so not that great of a trade but I could be wrong.

Why would Clippers want Melo? Washed fat dude who doesn't play D. Would be a terrible trade for them as NY would want asset back.

roflwaffle604 02-23-2017 08:26 AM

and here we go.....

Risk is pretty low for the Pelicans. They didn't give up too much for him, and even if things don't pan out, he's still got value in this market. Heck the Lakers/Knicks are in desperation mode and will probably dish out a king's ransom for him just to put fans in the seats. :awwyeah:

roflwaffle604 02-23-2017 11:28 AM

well that was a pretty anti-climactic trade deadline. none of the big superstar names ended up going anywhere

pastarocket 02-23-2017 11:54 AM

I was thinking that the Celtics were gonna make a move to try to acquire big name player given that they have attractive assets in their draft picks to give away.

Paul George, Jimmy Butler were the subject of trade rumours.

pastarocket 02-23-2017 03:03 PM

Sick move for the Cavs. LeBron gets his playmaker in Deron Williams after Mavs waive DW.

Hibbert gets traded from the Bucks to the Nuggets.

Obsideon 02-23-2017 09:39 PM

WTF are the Sixers doing lol, they already have a logjam at the 4 and 5 position. Then they trade for Tiago Splitter and Bogut :fulloffuck:
Would be hilarious to see them roll out a team of 4 bigs clogging the paint for rebounds and 1 pg chucking 3's haha

Dallas got Noel for even peanuts, he could turn out to be a stud. He's only 22 and has good defensive instincts. Bogut is a salary dump that's gonna bought out, I don't know who Justin Anderson is but scouts call him a shooting guard that can't shoot, he's probably like the 10th man off the bench depth chart and the 1st rounder is heavily protected top 18, Dallas is near the bottom of the rankings so it will turn into a 2nd round pick.

pastarocket 02-24-2017 04:38 AM

Draymond got a technical after giving this trash talk to Paul Pierce. At least Green did not kick the Truth in the nuts. :lawl: GSW won the game thanks largely in part to 50 points in the third quarter of the game against LAC.

GLOW 02-24-2017 07:54 AM

Pierce fired back on twitter LUL
