major snooze fest. Even more of a snooze fest watching it on sportsnet. Tsn showed the last 2 games, they have spoiled me!

spoon.ek9 12-20-2009 11:04 PM

yet another 2 points down the crapper. i just hope we make the playoffs this year.

Tim Budong 12-20-2009 11:14 PM

One thing for sure, no one in the west is "weak" by all means. The ducks aere the perfect example

I think we'll need to win the NW title to get into the playoffs this season.

MR_BIGGS 12-21-2009 12:43 AM

The balance has definately shifted to the west in terms of good teams. If Canucks keep playing the way they are, you can say by to the playoffs.

GM Place has valet parking in front of Costco for 55 bucks! Just saw it at the game. That's insane! 55 bucks..

Wow, fuck that. I paid $25 in the parkade across Coscto but shitty thing was my brother owns a condo in the building where I parked but I couldn't get a hold of him or I could have used his vistor parking and saved myself $25.

AzNightmare 12-21-2009 01:30 AM

WTF??? I missed the game, but watching the highlights...

Whether Burrows kicked the puck or not isn't even a factor.
It went off Burrows, then deflected off a St.Louis Dman as well, before before going in the net...

Isn't that a goal??

Harvey Specter 12-21-2009 04:22 AM

Lol, some Oiler fan posted this picture on a FB group....

The Easy Park at Keefer is $15 now. Unless you are talking about one of the shady surface lots or one of the parkades past Main.

I'm pretty sure the rule is you can't kick it in even if it's deflected by the goalie or defenseman thereafter. Burrows goal definitely had a kicking motion but the argument was "when."

it seemed more like a redirect (which is allowed) with a kicking motion (more of a reaction to feeling the puck hit his skate) afterwards.

its a huge gray area, but the fact that borrows moved his feet when the puck hit his skate was pretty evident. if he skated through and didn't move his feet then I would say that should've been a goal and it probably would have.

if the goal was allowed, i think the outcome still would have been the same.

Who cares!

Pay for the vouchers then go to the game and go into the casino and cash back out.

100% correct. 1040 contacted head office and confirmed it. A kick that's deflected by another player doesn't count. I personally think there was no motion til after the puck hit his skate and the puck would've gone the same direction regardless.

murd0c 12-21-2009 02:45 PM

The Thrashers may want a D-man instead of Cory Schnieder. The Canucks offer would then be a 1st round pick, Demitra, Grabner, and a D-man.

I say swap Grabner out for Bieska

RiceIntegraRS 12-21-2009 03:30 PM

If the Canucks seriously think they can win a cup this year, i say we give up Grabner, Bieksa and 1st for Kovy. We could use Demitra come playoff time cause hes still a proven 20+ goal scorer 50+ point guy every season.

Sedin - Sedin - Burrows
Raymond - Kesler - Kovalchuk
Samuelsson - Demitra - Bernier

not too shabby.

RiceIntegraRS 12-21-2009 03:52 PM

But what is seriously wrong with our team?

God-Like Goalie(Still not on his game yet)
Offensive never has been better
Defence was once considered to be Top 5 in the League

6th in the league in Goals For
7th in the league in Goals Against
Yet we stand 15th in the league?

Our PP is 5th(I honestly got no idea how thats even possible, Our PP some nights looks outright terrible)
Our PK is 19th and with us being the 3rd most penalized team in the league is basically why we are losing.

I honestly think wat we need is a Top Tier checking forward like a John Madden or a Sammy Palhsson to be in our lineup

pure.life 12-21-2009 04:47 PM

Devils owning the Penguins in a battle for first place in the East (4-0 Devils in the 2nd)

the answer to your question is simple, and you have hit it correctly
the bottom 6 forwards need to step up

Wellwood was VERY effective last season and into the playoffs, but that dissappearing act is hurting that line. He skates into the wrong places, and thus the wingers have to cover for him. At the moment, Bernier is the only guy on that line that is accepting his role. Leads team in hits, and popping in the numbers you expect a 3rd liner to do

Ryan Johnson, effective on the PK, blocks the shots, but where was his 5v5 game from last season we all praised about. Its gone. and thats hurting that 4th line.

being 19th on the PK isnt something to be proud of, and our PP has been better than what i expect.

at the end of the day, those PK/PP% dont matter if you cant win games.

Dont even get started on the defense of this team, thats another big issue.

The same goes for teams like the Ducks and the Blues, which have the guns and the defense, but its the small issues such as the bottom 6 forwards or defensement not playing to standard.

We are where we are becuz of Luongo, and the top line picking up the slack to score early.
