Not too bad if the deal is signed... only problem I can think of is his age.. being 40, he's had some injuries but it shouldn't be too bad overall

Good thing is I guess he brings experience and probably will be a good presence in the locker room.

Mathieu Schneider was -12 last year... Don't you guys think he's getting too slow to keep up with the game at the age of 40?

Put him out there when the Sedins are on the ice and he won't have to worry about keeping up. They have possesion of the puck like 80% of the time. :thumbsup:

he might be slower but remember the puck moves quicker then you can skate. As well hes a D that won't hurt us and just a 1 yr deal won't hurt us for next year

Well he was -10 with Atlanta and it's prety damn hard not to be minus with that team.

He was only -2 with Montreal and at the time Montreal wasn't playing so hot but he also got 17 points in 23 games.

Yes he's old but we aren't signing him to play 20 + minutes anyways. He will be the bottom 3 which will be fine. The price probably won't be too bad and if this gets done I'm totally on board with it.

Seriously guys, the dude's OLD and he's no Nieds. If we do get him, it needs to be short term and with a VERY low cap hit.

fo sho that's why the only way i'm down is if it's a 1 year and low cap. The reports so far seem to say we are after a 1 year deal which is great and I don't think Gillis is dumb enough to offer a sick amount anyways. WE'll probably find out soon.

I heard on TV that the deal for Schneider will be for 1 year and 1.5 million. Good signing... it won't cost us any picks/prospects to get a D and he's still pretty good.

He'll definitely help us on the PP which I'm sure everyone complained about for a few seasons... If anybody doesn't like this deal, then there is something wrong.

My memory of Dave Scatchard is finding out he fuckied my buddies long time girlfriend which lead to them splitting up, true story.

I can't wait to call him and let him know he's trying out. :)
