I guess its going to be Bieska or O'Brien.

O'Brien alone isn't enough unless there packaging him up. They need to clear cap room and they have a lot of forwards as well. When you bring someone back it has to be someone very low paid as well.

Maybe you package O'Brian and Bernier? Thats like 3.6 million there.

Canucks trade Daniel Rahimi and Patrick White to San Jose for Christian Ehrhoff and Brad Lukowich...and they sign Mathieu Schneider lol

ienhz 08-28-2009 11:12 AM

SJ got ripped.

Watch Patrick White become a superstar now that the Canucks got rid of him lol

hi5-ive 08-28-2009 11:12 AM

Sorry, but highly doubt that given Schneider is only going to be a 1 year contract and Bieska is still so young.

Young doesn't really mean anything when it comes to trades. The fact is somebody is the odd man out now and unfortunately Bieksa is probably the odd one out of our D.

Tim Budong 08-28-2009 11:29 AM

They should rid obrien and like someone up front i mean...the forwards..so many opporatunities

Grandmaster TSE 08-28-2009 11:32 AM

awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

cressydrift 08-28-2009 11:38 AM

Good moves today, just need to trade Wellfed, Obsessed with penalties O'brien and Alain Vagina for hot dogs and we will have a good team.

PS- Thank god we lost Pyatt.

silk 08-28-2009 11:40 AM

^ i kinda missed the Pyatt news ?
anyone ?

woob 08-28-2009 11:41 AM

We decided not to give him an offer, letting him go to free agency iirc

Razor Ramon HG 08-28-2009 11:42 AM

Pyatt is a UFA.

I think you're forgetting that Wellfed was one of the few Canucks that actually gave more than a half-assed effort during the playoffs.

Werd. He's the guy that made the 3rd line click. Bernier and Raymond certainly didn't get deadly all on their own. By the end of the regular season, our 3rd line was killing almost as well as our top 6.

What I meant was Schneider is only going to be here for 1 year. Come next year, the Nucks will need to find another D man to replace Schneider. Bieska could be a good trade bait if they can get some good draft picks. But again, looking at it long term, keeping Bieska is better than keeping Salo since he is getting up in age too.

For what he is getting paid, I think it is in the Nuck's best interest to keep Wellwood. He had a high faceoff percentage, and is a pretty good play maker.

But then again, if they can get good draft picks, then by all means....

silk 08-28-2009 11:52 AM

i like wellwood in game or in front of media... always give me a good laugh to watch his interview ..HAHAHHA

Wellwood was one of the hardest working guys in the playoffs.

People that still call him wellfed after he got back into shape and worked his ass off need to go stfu.

Hondaracer 08-28-2009 11:53 AM

"cheap" producing players who work hard like obrien and wellwood are not worth giving up because their potential outweighs their price tag they are exactly the type of players you need to win a cup

mike gillis though is the man seriously looking back no one can say that nonis would have had the balls or ability to make any of these moves

Nonis would've missed picking up the call from Doug Wilson offering the trade cause his hands would've covered in powdered sugar from all the donuts he stuffs his face with.

LOL!!

2 Schneiders now - I'm getting confused, haha!

silk 08-28-2009 12:15 PM

so if Kess&Burrows don't keep last season pace we would be done..how do you add 3dman on 1day when there's already 5 capable..clueless.

AzNightmare 08-28-2009 12:17 PM

So who do Canucks have for offense as of now?
