What's up with their late schedule... Should be Game 2 tomorrow. lol

lol, well, it might not have mattered anyway, since his stick was tangled up with Bieksa and Luongo, he only had one hand on the stick anyway. I was more thinking it's lucky the puck didn't hit the toe of Handzus. It would have went back into the net.

globetrotters in chicago!

the save again, look at handzus. hands in the air celebrating when he coulda so easily tapped it in. thank the hockey gods for that!

Handzus' stick was already in a bad position (by Lou's head), highly unlikely that he would have gotten it ready in time...but still pretty funny.

I knew white is the tradition colour.

Just was wondering why we couldn't do something unique for this opening game.

I was looking forward to see a sea of blue..

but w.e..

white is still good.

You know what was great? The White Out in 94. When EVERYBODY wore white and was waving white towels (a tradition we started...you know to mock surrender? Need white for that).

Unfortunately that hasn't happened since and the past few years after the NHL made the darker jerseys the home jersey, fans goign to the games never really bought in on wearing all blue, which is understandable since many of them have white jerseys. Today was a bit better in terms of a sea of blue. But how fucking cool would it be to have a sea of blue with towel like 'whitecaps' everywhere.

Tim Budong 04-16-2010 01:38 AM

The white towel movement started in FUCKING VANCOUVER DAMNIT

as for the blue, its slowly going to become a sea of blue, minus the club seat section...
The thing is, theres too many color changes for Vancouver and too many different jerseys that this will not happen for awhile.

As me and ch28 were saying, a team like the flames have had the same colors for identity since they were the Atlanta Flames, people have old shit, its still red and white....

In hockey yes but it was actually the Pittsburgh Steelers I believe for sports teams.

TalonTurbo 04-16-2010 06:04 AM

THE GREEN MEN ARE AWSOME! They should hire them to be official Canuck mascots! haha

Did the Steelers start waving towels before the spring of 1982?

Greenstoner 04-16-2010 07:24 AM

Green men is only good if they shows up once awhile, i remeber they show up way too often few months ago and i found them annoying.

it wasnt that funny to see them on the TV last night but i gotta say the oppsite down was pretty awesome.

Biggest lol'd from last night was stick into Sedin's visor, now when i think about it.. i still get a good chuckle at it.. hahaha

Hondaracer 04-16-2010 07:26 AM

It was neilson waving the towel to surrender to thr refs as per nucks lore

even espn had a spot on it I've seen before

^The green men were funny but the Sedin visor was a little bit scary...we were lucky it didn't catch him in the eye.

are you the one in the picture with tanner?

a) he's definitely taller than 6"1
b) you are definitely shorter than 5'9

because he looks way taller than the difference you noted

murd0c 04-16-2010 08:10 AM

Does anyone have any more info on the 5 person fight in the stands last night? It must of been crazy for them to say it on 1040.

They were sitting 1 or 2 sections to the right of us. It went on for a good couple of minutes. Everybody in our section didn't know whether to focus on the game or the fight :lol

Another guy in the section to the left of us had to be dragged out by 3 security guards while 2 VPD were standing around just watching.

Tim Budong 04-16-2010 10:09 AM

i think tot he right of us, some dudes were hatin on the guy in the Kopitar jersey, then he got escorted out with 5security guys around him.
this was probably the fight tom n shorty saw, as it was eye level to them and across
where as the other fight was in the corner next to the booth

ya.. i know white is also one of their jersey colours.. Just that i think blue would have been more unique since so many other teams are using white towels.
