nothing
these are pros, it might feel sour after, but I think boyle redeemed himself by scoring the goal early tonight

spoon.ek9 04-20-2010 08:49 PM

^ true, but you know it had to have gone thru his mind at least once heading into this OT period :)

seakrait 04-20-2010 08:53 PM

fuck.. that was a good save by anderson... so close for the sharks.

well, that's what i think of luu anyway. more of a scramble-type goalie...

I wonder if we'll ever see Lu from the '07 when he played against Dallas. He was fire during that series!

seakrait 04-20-2010 09:01 PM

feck.... sharks win.

JSALES 04-20-2010 09:03 PM

fuck, i wanted avs to win

Tim Budong 04-20-2010 09:03 PM

Yah there hasn't been one yet this year yet. All the ot's have ended realitively quick.

With all the Lu supporters and Lu bashers,
I notice a lot of people are getting flamed whenever anything's bad said about Luongo.
What other goalies are available, Luongo's the most consistent, etc, etc.

So I dunno... because we've seen him at his peak, and like some have questioned, he
gets a salary raise, yet he still haven't shown he can consistently play at the '07 caliber.
And he's declining right now, but some like to call it a bad slump that all goalies go through.

So who knows anymore. All I know is, there are goalies that are outplaying him getting paid less.
Whether this is a super long slump or what, I can't trust Luongo to support the team to win as of now,
so I hope the rest of the team can pick up their slack.

quasi 04-20-2010 09:49 PM

Lots of blame to go around but the series is far from over. Here's to hoping they turn it around starting tomorrow. Last year when they flipped the switch they went lights out, hopefully they can find some of that magic here and now.

Go Canucks Go.

JSALES 04-20-2010 10:01 PM

i can't wait to watch tomorrrow's game, i just hope they don't lose. they were expected to go far, i just wanna see the canucks at least get passed the 2nd round

Harvey Specter 04-20-2010 10:08 PM

I hate the Avs so much but I'll be the first one to admit that they deserve to go to the 2nd round. This team has so much heart and never give up and what about Anderson, the man pays his dues to prove that not only is good enough to be a starter in the NHL but good enough to single handedly take on one of the best teams in the leagues.

fixed xD .

hah but in all seriousness, I wish Lu was playing as well as Anderson. Then we'd be up on the Kings by a mile. Lu has been getting outplayed [by the other goalie] almost every other night since the Olympics....

AzNightmare 04-20-2010 10:23 PM

To be honest... The only thing Lu has proved to me during the olympics is he doesn't
completely shit his pants when it comes to big games with lots of pressure on him.

In terms of out playing the other goalie, even in olympics, I'm not 100% sure on that.
With a super team in front of him, any mediocre goalie could have looked awesome.

Remember Jonas Hiller from the Swiss team?
He was playing good, too bad he didn't have team Canada in front of him though.

I don't think Luongo's a bad goalie...
but he's just not playing at a level anywhere near what he is expected to be at.
And other mediocre goalies are bringing their game to a new level.
So if other goalies are doing it, why can't Lu? That's the frustration fans are dealing with.

choda 04-20-2010 10:41 PM

Vancouver isn't called the "Goalie Graveyard" for no reason ;)

Sadly, I had hoped that that moniker had lost its meaning once Lu arrived.

fishing666 04-20-2010 11:34 PM

I think Luongo might play better if the perception of him was that of an underdog goalie. He seems to go flat on his stomach and start crying to the ice after letting in a few goals in. He can't seem to compose himself. It might be better off to let Luongo be the goalie that he can be without the pressure and expectations of a superstar goalie.

Harvey Specter 04-21-2010 12:10 AM

It'll be the biggest facepalm in the history of facepalming if AV has to pull Lu tomorrow. My god, I can't imagine the headlines going into game 5 if that were to happen.

Well Luongo better be on top of his game tomorrow (canucks played a pretty strong game 3, Luongo didn't)... IF Canucks lose tomorrow and go down 1-3 in the series, I don't really see any chance of them coming back and winning it in 7... It would be the biggest upset in Canucks history... but I'm positive that won't happen... If Luongo has a strong game.
