Good job Bieksa diving around like he's at soccer practice! :haha:

ajax 05-03-2010 07:40 PM

What was with all the hats?

HKSR 05-03-2010 07:40 PM

32 wins, 1 loss going into the 3rd period this year... and they find this moment to blow the lead. This is what separates true contenders from those hoping for the bounces to get a cup. Lead going into the 3rd... finish them off! 2-0 series lead, series is more than likely over! Now it's a best of 5, momentum --- Chicago.

ajax 05-03-2010 07:41 PM

SOB had NO offense at all.

+1.

Apart from the 1st 10 minutes, the Hawks owned this game. They didn't play a skill vs. skill game. They pounded and pushed and earned their space while we did the opposite. We basically just played the perimeter game because of it and depended on the point shots like Washington.

Canucks have to reply on game 3 and earn their space again; and it's gonna take more than their skill game.

Simulated 05-03-2010 07:41 PM

we came looking for a split and we got it so home ice is ours now where we have one of the best records in the league. this loss will hopefully send a message to the canucks that they will have to keep elevating their game as the series progress.

yeah not that i think they should go fishing for a big one and put themselves in poor positioning defensively, but there's nothing i want to see more right now than someone flattening this bum at the blue line the next time he decides to fly through the neutral zone. think scott stevens vs. eric lindros. :haha:

That is how my FB looked like right after!

Guy who said that Hawks will take it in 6 said Avs will take it in 6... :haha:

Harvey Specter 05-03-2010 08:01 PM

Fuckkkk, we should have won this game but have to credit the Hawks for coming out strong in the 2nd and 3rd. Game 3 and 4 should be good.

Gt-R R34 05-03-2010 08:03 PM

they didn't just come out strong, they came out GUNNING and dominated us for 2 periods.

spoon.ek9 05-03-2010 08:10 PM

ugh.. not a good game tonight.

MR_BIGGS 05-03-2010 08:12 PM

I don't think the Canucks sat back like one person keeps mentioning in this thread. I think it had more to do with the Hawks pushback. They didn't finish second in the West for no reason. Traditionally yes the Canucks have been known to sit on leads, but like you mentioned this is playoff hockey. Adjustments are made shift by shift, period by period and game by game. The Hawks outplayed the Canucks today, like we outplayed them in Game 1. I look for the Canucks to have a pushback game Wednesday.

If you want to pick apart the Canucks play, I suggest you start with the powerplay.

Greenstoner 05-03-2010 08:21 PM

really thought we will push into the OT .. oh well.. 1-1 now
better than 2-0 hawks :D

lets welcome the boys home on wed !!

tonyzoomzoom 05-03-2010 08:22 PM

I thought we played well today. Didn't get the bounces like the Hawks did. We hit some posts too.

Chicago is the number 2 seed in the West, even if we play well, there's no guarantee that we'd win. It's going to be a great 5-game series.

Hope the bandwagoners don't twist their ankles when they jump off...

Great68 05-03-2010 08:35 PM

Why does admitting Canucks played a shitty game label you a bandwagoner?

They got 2 goals in 5 minutes and were dominating, and then just fell apart.
Admit it, they broke down. As if letting the Hawks get a short handed goal wasn't bad enough, letting the hawks get 3 more short handed breakaways is even worse. If Luongo wasn't as good as he was tonight, it could have been another 7 goal blowout by the Hawks. Now the Hawks have their confidence back, and the Canucks have their work cut out for them.
AV definately needs to change something up for the next game.

MR_BIGGS 05-03-2010 08:39 PM

Ehroff had a tough game with a -3, and he looked a little slow out there.

I was surprised the Sedins were both -2 and combined 3 shots on net. They will have to adjust and be our best players Wednesday.

Seabrook was beast tonight:
1 G 2 A +4 8 hits

Saying the Canucks played a shitty game doesn't make you a bandwagoner, saying the Canucks played a shitty game and broke down makes you an idiot.

Okay, a bit harsh, but ya it would have been nice to see the killer instinct, but a sweep was unlikely?

Allowing a short handed goal, 3 short handed brakeaways, and hardly any good scoring chances on 5 power plays.

Yeah they played great in the 2nd and 3rd!

They NEVER got that momentum they had in the 1st 5 minutes at any other point in the game.

MR_BIGGS 05-03-2010 08:55 PM

^^ Fair enough. They lost it on special teams. I just don't think you are giving the Hawks enough credit.

It was definately a failed opportunity on the Canucks part.

basically we stopped trying after the 2nd goal. no one was playing offense anymore, and we got screwed playing all defensive

Just like last year when we were winning 1-0 and A.V stops forechecking and shutting down there offensive power. Then we let Chicago play there game and come back. SAME FUCKING THING TONIGHT. Your up 2-0, you have all the momentum. DON'T STOP!

When Canucks have momentum, they can't stop the pressure. Chi-City gets down on themselves and scared. We can't run and gun with them, we can't sit back the hole game, we need to play our game. Its funny, today on team 1040 poll 78% voted that it's going to be the year. Tomorrow should be a different story.

Harvey Specter 05-03-2010 11:22 PM

Lets face it, the Hawks finally showed up for the series last night. The team that beat us last night is the team we're going to face going forward in the series.
