Gh0stRider 10-21-2009 08:01 PM

dont matter..i'll still use it while driving.

mickz 10-21-2009 08:05 PM

What if I put my phone on speakerphone? Technically I'm not using my hands, hence hands-free.

Just as long as you're not in the car with somebody who's 16 and under because remember, they also have a ticket for that too!

urrh 10-21-2009 08:38 PM

heard ipods were part of this too
this city might as well be made from nerf

TruboChrager 10-21-2009 08:41 PM

haha what if the car has bluetooth handsfree?

hirevtuner 10-21-2009 09:09 PM

good, blowjobs aren't included, i can still receive one while driving

46_valentinor 10-21-2009 09:09 PM

i heard on a radio station back in the days that said listening to music is equally as distracting as talking on the phone, maybe the government should ban stereos too!!

I am. It's hard enough to text on the iPhone cuz it's touchscreen, so I just wait till I get a red light.

not for long. Soon the gov will ticket you for smoking, eating, putting make up on, drinking, coughing, sneezeing, farting, lsitening to raido, listening to music while driving.

TRD Rs200 10-21-2009 09:27 PM

BC govt = Fail, if u naturally cant multitask like one of my bros, dont

It would be allowed.

unit 10-21-2009 09:35 PM

tons of places already have laws like this.
i know korea has had the no cellphone rule since at least 2002.
we should consider ourselves lucky.
besides, how often are you gonna get busted for texting on your phone?
just say you were in the middle of making a call not texting if you get busted.
then you'll pay the $167 but wont get points for texting.

ctsport 10-21-2009 09:39 PM

Finally! Ban these stupid mofos! There have been so many times that these ass-hat drivers almost hit me because they were paying more attention to talking than driving!

In a perfect world, we would be able to shoot people who use their phones while driving. :D

tonyvu 10-21-2009 09:43 PM

ehhh, i'm all for the no texting, but fuck that if we can't talk on our phones =/

I heard banning gay oral sex while driving is next on the review list.

StylinRed 10-21-2009 09:49 PM

get a bluetooth headset then.... and ifi you have a NDL get a bluetooth stereo

chris_89T 10-21-2009 09:51 PM

I just have a feeling this new law is going to end up nailing the responsible drivers who CAN multitask within reason rather than the idiots who can barely drive to begin with let alone talk on a phone at the same time.

Personally the only time ill talk on my phone while driving is when their is little traffic and few traffic lights. Driving standard and talking on the phone can be tricky.

So how are the cops going to prove someone was texting and not checking the time or whatever? Do they get to invade our privacy and dig up records and check our phones? Personally I just see too many flaws, I have a feeling that if the cop wanted to be a dick he/she could slap the 3 points on there because they claim you were texting.

Who knows? I think banning N drivers from talking on the cell phone is a good idea, in your N time frame I think you really should be focusing on driving rather than multi tasking.

ilvtofu 10-21-2009 10:08 PM

Blame it on the phone,
Blast that ringtone,
Blame it on the text,
What's coming next?

Drow 10-21-2009 10:20 PM

i really dont get it, i never get distracted when talking on cell while driving, i can see how they would ban TEXTING... but to ban talking on the phone is kinda absurd

drinking and driving is BAD!

iam_dan 10-21-2009 11:44 PM

i think as long as the cell phone isnt occupying the driver's hands it'd be good to have this.
handsfree bluetooth units would be good.
