I was being somewhat sarcastic... But in all honesty, as a driver you've never seen some jackass step off a curb or walk across a driveway without giving due care because of texting?

...how is that something to compare it to at all?
behind the wheel, you're capable of killing somebody if you're texting

if you're on foot, the worst you can do is bump into another pedestrian

It's a logical decision to ban cellphone and electronic device usage when you're driving. It makes the road safer. I have encountered many drivers talking on the phone making driving errors. I don't get why you guys are saying this law/regulation is "Gay, stupid, retarded etc etc". If you must talk/answer your calls, get a bluetooth headset. Simple as that. If you don't want to, then that's what VOICE MAIL is for. If the call was really important, the friend, client etc etc would leave a message.

Yah I agree with you totally.

I don't understand the complainers either. This law was made to target the average driver. Meanwhile, all RS members are awesome drivers capable of texting/shifting/eating while driving, right?

Just this morning, the car in front of me was hogging up the road and the driver was not aware of his/her surroundings. I ended up passing it, and it was a woman on the phone. I should have yelled at her...

this law is stupid because there is already a law in place to deal with people who don't pay attention to the road.

'Driving Without Due Care and Attention'

so now, instead of actually issuing a citation for someone not paying attention to the rules of the road, it's now automatically assumed if you have a electronic device near you, that you are driving without due attention and care.

this doesn't relate to anything. She's a women, and they are horrible and annoying drivers. I am always aware of my surroundings on the phone, easily...

The law should have been to ban cell phones from women drivers.

Jesus Christ the mysogny. There should not be a biased against gender for this ban. Bad drivers are bad drivers regardless of whether you are a man or women, arguing otherwise or thinking "Statistically" women are worse so it should only apply to them is unsound reasoning.

Greenstoner 01-06-2010 10:51 AM

this law only makes the bad drivers become better drivers..

If we'r making such a big fuss over cell phones, why r ppl still allowed to drink & drive? The slightest hint of alcohol affects ur judgement as well. Why wouldnt alcohol be banned?

I'm typing this with my little toe while driving. My iPhone is window mounted. I be hands free bitches. I wonder if i'll get ticketed?

i bet some of the drivers on here are still texting/talking while driving, some people won't like to follow this law and rather just take their chances haha

I've just had a lot of encounters with distracted women drivers who are annoying...

I was following this girl who was fixing her hair in traffic today and on her phone. She kept accelerating and braking, she couldn't keep a consistent speed like all the other drivers. Quite funny, not in a sexist way it's just that women drivers are the ones that mainly cause problems on the road when distracted...

If I could I would like to smash a brick through the window and crack her fucking head open, that shit makes a ROAD RAGE. PAY ATTENTION HO.

I'm pretty sure half the people on revscene are the type that fixes their hair while driving as well, if they don't already do it in the washroom. Probably even more so than women.
