roastpuff 11-09-2009 01:23 AM

So just been looking at tires... and some of them come with odd fluorescent colored markings on the tread? New tires, that is. Specifically, at the bottom of the tread. What's all that about?

taylor192 11-09-2009 07:21 AM

Forecast has changed, going to stay ~+8C and no snow.

hk20000 11-09-2009 10:53 AM

hirevtuner 11-09-2009 11:09 AM

hk20000 11-09-2009 11:12 AM

I still haven't sourced myself a set of rims for the snowies yet.

FOOK, i switched to my Winters Today. LAME! I'll take pics of the Awesome Timeattacks I did today :lol.

+Kardboard+ 11-09-2009 07:50 PM

For my parents' LOLvo, it's been winter wheel season for a few weeks. All-seasons + Raincouver = Permanent, Unintentional Swedish Initial D.

Yeah...something's not right here LOL Mine holds up fine in rain.........so far.

BabyblooLexus 11-09-2009 08:04 PM

very verrrrrry not excite about having to put the stockies back up and re-raising

but i DO enjoy seeing all the marshmallow-ized effect that snows has on parked cars.

ReD-DrAgOn 11-09-2009 08:19 PM

I tossed my Toyo Observe Garit KX on steel wheels, hopefully they will hold up and perform decent in snow and on ice.

Peturbo 11-09-2009 09:11 PM

Might be picking up some brand new hankook 175/65/14 winters from work for cheap and mount them on my stock rims.
But it is gonna look hideously thin, especially with the high stock offset.
Stock rims look bad enough on my car with 195/60/14s.

R-Acs 11-09-2009 09:52 PM

You guys do know that winter tires aren't just for snowy weather right?
The rubber compound used to make winter tires stay soft in cold temperatures unlike summer tires which are rock hard and don't grip. Technically you're supposed to switch to winter tires when outside temperatures get down to 7*C.

rain is so fucking depressing and wouldn't mind some snow, but not like last year!... I'm ALREADY looking forward to Spring/Summer...

roastpuff 11-09-2009 11:14 PM

So managed to score some Blizzak LM22 in 215/45R18 off a Mazdaspeed6 owner... $600, pricey but the tires were still pretty new.

Am set for winter!

dc02 11-10-2009 01:12 AM

2:11 AM now. Westwood Plateau got snow. It's melting now so it's turning into slush.
