Just took a look at the weather forecast for the next couple weeks, and it says we may have a touch of snow by end next week!

time to get the 20s off, and slap on the blizzaks! (plus im itching to see my stance on my new 17s :D)

this is also a message for all you other guys, get ur summers off the road! and dont be causing accidents all over the place!

^My friend was wondering whether to get steelies or alloys on his TL, I told him about the wheels on my Z that worked out to be around $100 each for the 17s from our Sponsor in North Van which isn't much more than buying ugly steelies.

What do you guys think?

k2_alpha 11-07-2009 10:04 AM

16" steelies should run about $60 each. Not sure how much 17" steelies go for. I guess it depends on his budget.

They're technically all seasons, but I wouldn't trust them in anything more than a light dusting of snow.

^^^ agreed. i got around on mine when we had that big dump last year but it was a lot of tricky driving and planning ahead....

if you're planning on having to drive in the dead of winter (if we get snow anyway), get them winters on.

truong 11-07-2009 02:09 PM

time to slap on my A048's and test the limit of traction.............

illicitstylz 11-07-2009 02:10 PM

sigh. going to sfu during winter semester = snows are a must

TOS'd 11-07-2009 02:23 PM

Is it necessary for winter tires if you only drive on the main roads, the ones that are all cleared? I have summers and awd.

AVS_Racing 11-07-2009 02:38 PM

god damnit i dont wana roll on ugly steelies

I don't care if you have AWD or not. Summer tires do not belong on the road during winter, even if there's no snow on the ground. Summer tires are only effective at certain temperature ranges, and you'll barely see those ranges during winter.

Besides, AWD only helps you get going. It will do shit all for turning and braking in the snow.

Gh0stRider 11-07-2009 03:01 PM

I rather have steelies. My oem wheels are curbed to shit.
