Just tried the waffle fries. Even after a few drinks, they were nothing special. Regular fries wins hands down.

Anyone know which Mcdonald's in Vancouver have the fancy create your own burger?

Market Crossing has them as well, but only until like 7pm or something.

They use their angus patties and then there are 3 choices of "artisan" buns so there's not really anything like it on the menu

Also the ingredients are all different than what typically comes on your regular mcd's burgers

SkinnyPupp 11-26-2016 08:02 AM

True but it's still McDonalds LUL

As much as I like McDonalds, it's only really good "for the money". IMO they aren't good enough to be the same price as a good "gourmet" burger

Just IMO though, through the hype

Hondaracer 11-26-2016 08:23 AM

i think in terms of the overall experience, yea you're right, You're still sitting at mcdicks with smelly old people and kids running around with ketchup on the floor and sticky soft drinks on the seats

however, the burger itself compared to a lot of places like a Cactus club, earls, etc. was comparable if not better imo. A lot of those places just slap together a bacon cheddar burger and make it the star of their sandwich menu

at least with mcdicks the burger is different pretty much every time, way more options than your average restaurant in terms of toppings and choices, and by ordering it via the terminal you dont feel like a degenerate adding extra mac cause along side that double cheese double bacon lol

the service to your seat is kinda hoakey though, dunno how i really feel about it

bcrdukes 11-26-2016 03:31 PM

The service has been consistent for me. Of the times I've been, the folks at the Market Crossing location have been very professional about it from start to finish, including offering suggestions of toppings etc. It's not like going to Cactus Club where a girl with cleavage is going to bend over because she dropped some napkins and then offer to pick them up in hopes for a bigger tip, right? It's just McDonald's. No hype. No expectations. Just a good burger.

No no, it starts with lunch service, but stops around 7pm.

It's good, I get it time to time as I work around there.

Not really racist! 11-27-2016 12:50 PM

Tried the waffle fries yesterday, I think they were sitting out for a while

3/10 would not try again unless fresh

lilaznviper 11-27-2016 11:20 PM

tired the waffle fries at the renfew and grandview location. fries seem like it was left out for a very long time.

Also tried the potato rosti and bacon burger. it lacked the sauce and flavour...
paid almost 10 dollars for the 2 times.... i was better off doing the build your own burger

Hondaracer 11-28-2016 07:33 AM

yea rosti burger was dry as fuck

Just came back from HK, and stopped at McDonalds a few times.

Loved their shake shake fries with 2 flavours to choose from: seaweed and black truffle.

Their Hokkaido salmon burger was okay, but I ordered the one with the added beef patty and the patty was minuscule compared to the mcdouble patty.

Their ovaltine ice cream was really good. Didn't feel as sweet as their usual vanilla, and the ovaltine flavour was very strong. I wanted to get it again before flying back, but I don't think they carried them at all locations. Didn't see the signs for it at the airport location.

They also had this wannabe screamer that they called a freeze float, where they had coke or orange fanta slush and topped it with their soft serve.

I won't miss waiting 10 minutes to line up and order, and another 15 for the food to show up.

Verdasco 11-28-2016 07:59 AM

going to try all that next time, thx for reminding

saveth 11-28-2016 10:12 AM

2 major problems with the distinction burger. First problem I had was with the bread. It was pretty dense. Not something I would expect at mcds. 2nd is the hashbrown in my burger. It tastes like it was either overcooked or old.

On the bright side, the waffle fries were pretty good.

dlo 11-28-2016 04:05 PM

ffuck havent ate mcdicks for like half a year.. went in for the waffle fries and `10 pc nuggets, got fuckin sick lol

Akinari 11-28-2016 08:10 PM

Had the waffle fries today. Was thoroughly disappointed, probably cause I've had lots of waffle fries and these were definitely the worst I've tried. Anyone try that new holiday burger yet?

I just came back from HK as well and ordered the exactly same thing as you lol did you try their wings?

Ikkaku 11-28-2016 10:15 PM

yeah, we ordered the wings but I didn't have very many. I didn't even use the sauce they came with for the regular wings (spicy and sweet sauce?) lol.

Maybe I am just too used to having pub wings, but I thought the ones at mcd weren't all that special

ZN6 11-29-2016 07:20 AM

I had a junior chicken sandwich yesterday for lunch. Came back feeling sick since I haven't had anything breaded and fried for a long time from McD..... I'm just gonna stick with the mcdouble from now on. Old reliable is always king.

Fried shit from McD, never again.

I love McD too much to stop eating fast food.

SkinnyPupp 11-29-2016 07:35 AM

Damn you guys make me want to try another custom burger.

I think I'll go tomorrow and get double patties, mozzerella cheese, pickles, mayo and bbq sauce Kreygasm

Verdasco 11-29-2016 07:56 AM

tried their waffle fries,

came out hot and fresh and loved it, idk why u guys hated it

felt satisfied from the first bite, get it fresh is the tip

bcrdukes 11-29-2016 08:40 AM

I find that the key to the waffle fries is how fresh it is.

A colleague got a batch of old waffle fries, and sure enough, they were just awful.

My go-to after a hockey game is two McDoubles with no ketchup or mustard. Just beef, cheese, bread, and those little onion things. It truly is the perfect food.

Verdasco 11-29-2016 11:56 AM

mcdouble , replace ket/must sauce for big mac sauce

or add a filet o fish patty for $1.76 i believe and put tartar sauce instead of ket/mus sauce

i call it the fish gang bang
