true?

Yup only on used cars though. And the engine rebuild too

Just got the Ferrari 458 I take back a lot of the shit I gave to this game. The 458 was a lot of fun. Problem is the basic cars are really yawn inducing. LOL Won the veyron and they showed me the finale... I'm not even halfway through yet!

true?

I just tried this now and this is what i found out

1. Yes, if you buy an used car, the oil is dirty and so by changing it you gain some power back

2. Yes, if you have been given a car, or it was a prize car, by changing the oil you'll gain a few more hp

3. No, it doesn't have to be right away, as long as you change the oil, it will gain more hp.

4. Not sure if it'll work on cars you bought yourself. , but i'm sure it will if they allow you to change the oil. i just tried on one of my cars and they didn't allow me

/\ apparently its an easter egg

also what level are you guys at? just hit level 14

VK79 11-28-2010 02:16 PM

Have any of you guys upgraded to a ssd? The load times before each race is starting to bother me esp. since you gotta spam farm them for credits. I can hear the stock hdd working real hard during each load so it should help right?

how many of you guys spend the time adjusting the tranny?

im too lazy to go thru each gears and adjust it

yet at the same time i went with the shorter gear tranny and the top speed is always lacking..

what do you guys do? or just run the regular tranny?
but boost more power?

that would be pricey...if you are buying anything less than 64GB it wont have too much space for your games.

some guy on the PS boards did a similar comparsion for GT5P
Quote:

GT5 loading - Startup Video, Track Loading Video

Startup

HDD - 25.9 seconds

SSD - 22.9 seconds

10% decrease in load times

Track Load

HDD - 14.1 seconds

SSD - 11.6 seconds

18% decrease in load times

Not bad. Definitly seeing some better times then on the 7200rpm drive.
http://boardsus.playstation.com/t5/P...d/m-p/43584590

IMO load times are fine..they dont take any longer than 20-30 seconds.

so hows this game compared to forza 3.

haven't been following this thread.

and more importantly how's the drifting mode?

Wow what's wrong with my PS3... My track loading takes at least 45 secs, haven't timed it but feels like forever lol... I got it when it first came out so it's probably pretty outdated :/

Is there some kind of wifi booster? signal not great in basement. Laptop is fine though

Level 16 now. Usually get the close ratio for the lower power cars. For the fully customizable one I'm still at final drive only I think...

Hondaracer 11-28-2010 03:14 PM

Realistically, people bitch and complain about this game, in the end I'd rather be doing thr kart mode here than playing any forza..

How bout everyone stop bitching in here and start discussing the game, regardless of it's faults it's still very good

Gt5p is fine. Been playing it for ages. Somehow I only feel it's slow with gt5. Maybe it's due to farming millions of credit that is making me feel impatient. SSDs are ok in price for the 120g and below units. Gt5 won't go past 10g so even a 120g is fine (currently less than $200) In fact I kinda regret upgrading my 2nd ps3 to 500g, only using less than 50g after I bought a super long hdmi to link my pc to my LCD.

Does it mean that when you sell it, you cannot get the prize car again??

Wow once you hit level 16 go do the sebastien loeb challenges easy money. Gold = 100k
I got gold on my first try for them. I think it's because they set the gold-silver-bronze too close for such a long race

I was fiddling with the settings and I thought I completed the install for the game,
however I clicked the install option and there was a "Full Install" I clicked it and took about another 20 minutes. Load times are 50% faster now

I had to buy the custom tranny for the 1970 Challenger once I reached 700+ HP. I would top out at 280 kmph and get killed in the supercar challenges. Adjusting the top speed to 350 kmph allowed me to smoke Lambos with a muscle car!

For those of you that cant seem to get gold @ the top gear 2nd test in the special event with the elise...
dun let the EGO get the best of you..cuz I always play simulation with everything off..and after like 25min.. i couldnt for the life of me get past 5th...so i gave up and
put traction ctrl back to 5 and put ABS to 5...and voila... 1st with 3 seconds to spare LOL...

I had to do the same for the grand tour Tuscan night stage, the Lambo is all over the road otherwise.

lol 11-28-2010 06:55 PM

Today I played GT5 in 3D on our 55" Sony HX800 at work at its fucking hurting. Nothing is even 3D. I drove the R33 in a sunday cup race and the only thing that had a mere whiff of 3D was the standings on he right side of the screen during the race. What a joke.

do you mean there is another full install option in the options menu after you already install it on HD after you first load the game??
If so thanks for the tip, eating out right now will try when I get home
