^ that woulda been pretty cool guys go to option hardware than adjust ur display to sharpen graphics gets better |
Holy crap, I knew this game wouldn't look as good as 'expected' but I am amazed at how fucking ugly it is. It really does look like an upsampled PS2 game. What shit. And how do you turn the music off in races? I thought listening to horrible music while racing was The Stig's gimmick... Doesn't mean I want to do that as well! |

Do you do anything but bitch when you disagree with my posts? Yes I have the game, that's why I posted my initial thoughts. Nice try, posting some "photo mode" screenshots. That proves nothing, and just makes you look like a dumbfuck clueless fanboy. The game handles well, has a ton of cars and tracks. If that's all you want, good. But if you are fooling yourself into thinking it looks good or sounds good, just shut the fuck up and leave the thread. |

it's really mixed...sometimes it can look great and sometimes it looks subpar. I have no complaints with screen tears taht others are suggesting. However, I still think the visuals in GT5P was more consistent. I still think they should've focused more on the visuals of the track and enviornment...the roads always look too glossy. |

The standard cars are hit or miss for ugly. Some look great (Veyron) while others look awful (on one of the Skyline race cars the exhaust was some poorly done pixels in the centre of the trunk lid). The tracks for the most part look fantastic. Someone commented that the corners were not round - I have seen parts where the guard rails are not round, yet that seems by design cause the Cape Ring track has some fantastically round walls. The menus look fine, not ugly, not great. |

I don't think it looks as good as it probably could, yet compared to what is out there it is among the best, and I'll take the trade off for more cars and more tracks. |
i still say its lacking a lot of cars, or they are just out there playing hide and seek with me im at level 19 right now i dont see no TL, TSX, SUV, porsche cayanne, CGT, X5 M, CL, E class, 335, S4, RS4, A8/S8, 7 series and a whole lot more did i mention the lack of rims??? :bullshit: |

The worst is the Rome track, the cobble stone is very glossy when it should be worn from centuries of abuse. |

RS4 would be nice... there is a list of all cars, this must be in there. Quote:
I'd be fine if GT5 had no rim or body kit selection, there are many other games that do it much better. |
|
its just ironic that in the past GT always had hundreds of rims to choose from or sth like that and now they give us 20 rims if not less  after 5 years of developing this shit and removing the replay from 2 players battle gay |

The tracks look terrible for the most part, because while the textures are generally nice, there are no lighting effects at all on any of the track features. That means that everything int he world looks 'bright' and horribly unrealistic. There are a few shadows here and there, from overhead elements, but that's it. Aside from that, the game just has a fullbright look of a PS2 era game.[/quote] Quote:
I didn't play much Forza 3, but I know Forza 2 at least had backgrounds with lighting effects, giving it a more realistic look overall. I guess it's that this was supposed to be 'the next big thing' for the PS3 after Uncharted 2... Of course those are high expectations to live up to, but what I am disappointed the most about is that it didn't even come close to living up to expectations. It not only doesn't look like an amazing car-porn game, it looks like a rather ugly one, with 80% of the cars being nothing other than upsampled PS2 models. When you do get to see 'premium' cars, the ugly background stands out even more, as it looks like you are driving realistic cars in a cartoon world. But as a game, it's fun! I won't argue with anyone about that. |
/\ /\ I just remembered project gotham, i found that game to be great. |

that sucks. but oh well doesn't affect me :D |
This game is getting better and better for me as my cars get better. Beginner and amateur races are still too dull though. Initial impressions were bad but it's improving. What car to get for german race hmmm. Porsche would've been a no-brainer  What races are in the endurance series so I know what cars to get for them beforehand. Can't find anything on google |

Every object casts a shadow, even those far off track. I've played Madrid and Roma and parked the car looking out into the alleys, fields, ... everything has an accurate shadow. Do you mean the mountains far in the distance? Play Madrid and look right and left near the start. You'll see all the building to the street on the right cast shadows onto each other, even the trees and poles cast shadows onto the buildings. Then look left and notice the mesh fencing casts a shadow onto the top of the guard rail. If you're not seeing these, then maybe you have a setting wrong. To compare, since I don't own the game, I looked up some vids of F1 2010 on Youtube and the guard rails don't even cast shadows. WTF? Maybe it is not the PC version... |
