does shell have 94?

kookoobird88 01-25-2010 11:20 AM

damn I used to buy mohawk because they had 90 for the same price as others 87 thats the only reason why i went to mohawk, now mohawk changed the lowest octane (90) to 87. i always thought i got better milage on chevron though so I started using it, now i guess im gonna get the same milage on chevron gas as i did mohawk. bahhhhh

Just found out about this, apparently Chevron is going to be blending all their gasses except 94 octane with up to 10% ethanol

What's the next best alternative? Shell? Esso? I wish we had Texaco here, they add that yummy Techron goodness in their fuel too.

Just a heads up next time you go fill up at Chevron...

Source??? My sister works in the lab at the burnaby refinery and hasn't said anything, but then again I have never asked.. Lemme find out..

the Mohawks changed from 90 to 87 octane because some city's put in a local by-law's requiring all gas stations to offer the most inexpensive grade of gasoline. The only one I have seen that still offers 90 for the price of 87 is the one out at silverdale right before mission

Yeah talked to my sister. Apparently it started on Jan 1st Government Made all companies have ethanol blends. They have been studying the ethenol blends for over the past year.

Sucks..

6insomnia9 01-25-2010 11:55 AM

So.. Shell or Petro? Gah... I was like Wtf is this 10% ethanol shit when i was filling up at Chevron at Willingdon and Canada way a few days ago..

pherio 01-25-2010 11:56 AM

Chevron's had the notices posted on their pumps for the last couple weeks already. 87-91 octane say "May contain upto 10% ethanol" 94 octane is marked "contains no ethanol"

willystyle 01-25-2010 12:02 PM

Ok, so which gas station has no Ehanol blend in the 87? Petro?

c32 01-25-2010 12:05 PM

The down side of blended fuels is that your motor has to burn more blended fuel to perform the same amount of work as it would burning an unblended gasoline

Rising food price, global food crisis. Everything is wrong with ethanol

hotjoint 01-25-2010 01:08 PM

No wonder I noticed my gas burning down quicker. Oh well at 87 I can't complain

Mugen EvOlutioN 01-25-2010 01:32 PM

lol no u shouldnt complain, at least the ones tat are using 87

!Kodamu 01-25-2010 01:40 PM

dL 01-25-2010 01:44 PM

I just checked and Shell has ethanol too. 10% on 87, 5% on 89. Anyone know about petro? If petro has, then I'll stick with Chevron.

Mugen EvOlutioN 01-25-2010 01:53 PM

lol fuck it

everyone is adding 10% ethanol

http://retail.petro-canada.ca/en/formycar/143.aspx

petro is doing it, Shell is doing it

guess it dont matter where we are adding now. Quick lets all go to superstore/costco to get our gas since its the cheapest

RRxtar 01-25-2010 02:00 PM

i think ethanol burns alot hotter too

Dragon-88 01-25-2010 02:26 PM

All Gas stations will have ethanol blend with their lower octane gas. This is now implemented by the government.

So yes Petro, shell, everyone will have ethanol..

Sucks
