Just means you get more points if you win, soo. I think also due to people having so few games played, I'm sure it looks at alot of stats to determine who's favored and what not.

My user name is Wallot, add me, I play Zerg.

Man, trying to find my stride in build order and reacting to armies I am facing. Strat I'm leaning towards for Terran is MMM. Seems to work well against most.

MMM works like 50% for me. Its hit or miss if they get a good counter your done. If you get rushed hard fast the MMM build is fucked.

The hardest I find is playing terran vs terran. The games last fucking long as hell.

My favourite build so far for terran is marine and tanks + drop ships = ownage

Shit im stuck on the last campaign mission (I suck)... any pointers?

terkan 08-10-2010 02:42 AM

the one with kerrigan smashing ur face? just make sure u kill those nydus canal asap when they spawn with ur banshee.. as long as u kill them asap.. u can easily last til 80-90%+ and once u reach 90%.. just fall back to the artifact with all u got and hold. save often and reload as necessary.. if u survive a wave with kerrigan without taking much dmg save.

Honyoung 08-10-2010 08:34 AM

if you did the mission to kill the nydus worms then spam thors/goliaths and heros. Oh and build a ton of turrets

I hate this battle net menu.
It's all fancy and jazzy, but I find it annoying to navigate through it.
Maybe I was expecting it to be a bit more like the original Battle.net with
channels and chat room and everything.

Chatroom seems more efficient in communicating rather than the party multi-contact
chat windows.

How do you change user names? Is there user names?
How do I go offline? Or is it everytime I'm playing the game, everyone can see exactly where
I am, how long I'v been playing, what I've been doing, etc etc.

I feel Blizzard's new bnet failed me a bit.

It took me about 5 minutes to figure out what each button does....not that difficult to learn IMO. Everything web-based is moving towards more social interaction, hence the change in battle.net. If you don't want people to see what you're doing, don't have friends. But it's no different then say Xbox Live, just providing more detail.

Oh, and no you can't go "Offline"...well you can, but that would involve not playing the game.

Um...You really must not pay attention if you want to change your user-name...not sure how you missed the big window that said "CHOOSE WISELY AS ONCE YOU PICK YOUR USER NAME, YOU CAN'T CHANGE IT.

You're right, I did miss it. But I guess that's not really the point anyway.
I'm actually not even sure what my username is to be honest. I just see my real name.

I don't have Xbox (not a console gamer) so I don't know...
I just find this annoying.

To me, this feels like everything is autopilot because it's on the assumption everyone is too stupid to figure out how to get things going themselves. Like they're worried people won't know how to sign-in, so to simplify it, you're signed in 24/7.

I don't really have much to compare with, I played L4D2 earlier this year on the Steam Client and it was beautiful.

It's okay... I'll learn to like this eventually...

On the left choke point, set up a concave of sieged tanks + MM with a medivac or two.

Right side, just cram everything into the tiny choke point (sieged tanks + MM + medivac)

Keep upgrading infantry/vehicle weapon upgrades.

Use the energy nova when kerrigan gets within firing range, that way all the common zerg are wiped out and your units can concentrate fire on kerrigan.

I'll use a different example; Look at Facebook, where people keep hundreds of people up-to date with every aspect of their life. Similar situation here with B.net

For the last mission, I had Nyduses cause I chose to kill the air. This is based on Hard. I refuse to try brutal.

Wall off the left with Bunkers + shitload of tanks in the highground. Leave 2-3 SCVs there to auto repair. Leave some room for your SCVs to repair the bunkers/tanks. or just wedge them in there. Fill bunkers with M+M. It should look like an upside down L wall of bunkers.
At least 8-10 tanks. Those Ultras can take a beating. So you need the Maurader with shell upgrades to slow them a bit.

The right side I had trouble with... but same idea. Wall + Tanks. You don't need turrets except for I think right near the beginning when they drop shit from behind with Ov's. Build like 5 of them. If you have the splash damage upgrade, it should be enough. GEt the Range upgrade for the bunkers at the EngBay.

Middle:
Bunch of tanks around the artifact. At least enough to get in range of this Nydus that keeps popping up just behind the cliff of it in your base.

3 Starports w/TechLab. Spam Banshees
2 Factory w/ TechLab. Spamming Tanks

Should be enough. Just remember to repair your tanks and bunkers.. otherwise you're fucked. Cloak Banshees and watch out for her storm thing. Get the splash Damage upgrade for them before you start the mission.
Cloak+ hit nydus as soon as they pop. Keep spamming more banshees while attacking, cause they get rocked really quickly.

2 Armories. Do weapons first obviously. I sure hope you have that Weapon upgrade that adds to speed.

Well.. just for argument sake... it's actually ourselves that do that, not Facebook.
If we left the info blanked and stopped uploading every photo we took,
no one would be updated of our lives.

But I get your point. So many people are using twitter anyway.
I can see why Blizzard didn't forsee this being a problem.

ForbiddenX 08-10-2010 05:00 PM

^having to be online to play is Blizzards DRM.

I myself like the new Battle.net system more than the old one. And it really isn't that hard to figure everything out.

Would anyone be up for an inhouse RS tourney once or twice a month or something? Itd be cool to see how we rank up against each other and then maybe have a prize pool once in a while. I wouldn't mind trying to host one and see how it goes. Let me know if you guys are interested! We can do different tiers too so those new to the game have a chance to do this aswell. If enough people are interested Ill try to get it going!
