the "best" way is 3 per mineral patch and 3 per gas.. according to TL... i usually just put 2 per mineral patch and 3 per gas.

I heard that they will be bringing back channels for people to talk within the next few months. Can anyone confirm this?

At least 8-10 tanks. Those Ultras can take a beating. So you need the Maurader with shell upgrades to slow them a bit.

If you have the splash damage upgrade, it should be enough. GEt the Range upgrade for the bunkers at the EngBay.

Middle:
Bunch of tanks around the artifact. At least enough to get in range of this Nydus that keeps popping up just behind the cliff of it in your base.

3 Starports w/TechLab. Spam Banshees
2 Factory w/ TechLab. Spamming Tanks

Should be enough. Just remember to repair your tanks and bunkers.. otherwise you're fucked. Cloak Banshees and watch out for her storm thing. Get the splash Damage upgrade for them before you start the mission.
Cloak+ hit nydus as soon as they pop. Keep spamming more banshees while attacking, cause they get rocked really quickly.

2 Armories. Do weapons first obviously. I sure hope you have that Weapon upgrade that adds to speed.
You didn't fully research on the zerg side? I research thumpers (that's what I call the things that slow the zerg down); and they do stack with the marauder slow-rockets. If you wanted to research the mind-control thing it might help with the ultras.

I agree with most of the rest though.

Would anyone be up for an inhouse RS tourney once or twice a month or something? Itd be cool to see how we rank up against each other and then maybe have a prize pool once in a while. I wouldn't mind trying to host one and see how it goes. Let me know if you guys are interested! We can do different tiers too so those new to the game have a chance to do this aswell. If enough people are interested Ill try to get it going!

I'm down for the tournament, but I am not that good....I got kicked down from gold league to silver league.... but I am top 10 ranked in silver :S and I wasn't even last in gold league :'( I rather play 2v2 though....

Someone set it up!

^Yea I'm not that good either haha I'm switching from protoss to terran now. Still getting used to all of the terran build orders and stuff. The tournament would just be for fun right now and I guess it'll just be used to see how we rank up with each other on RS.

I don't really feel like cluttering this thread with all the tournament lists stuff or starting a new one haha maybe just the brackets.

So please PM me if you're interested and I'll just make one list here and update it. Not really sure how many people we'll have but maybe around 16-20 for now?

personally i like the new blizzard system ~ don't really care much for channels ... i like the friend's list system they have now and i find everything very easy to navigate

omg what pisses me off so much is the different play styles in each different league. in bronze league everyone reaper rushes. in platinum league its more creative plays like proxying. playing plat for a while and then bronze with some other friends totally screws me up!!

proxying is the most cheese as play ever. its pretty much do or die. If you survive it you win.

Reaper rush is easy to counter (I play zerg), especially when they try and harass with just one, maybe a little more difficult if they're good and go Speed upgrade and 4 or 5. Biggest thing though is just scout early and often, and you'll know what to counter.

But I do agree that everyone in Bronze is super predicable, I've oddly enough only played Terran, and the majority of players try a reaper rush and fail, or go MMM, or Marine + ST drop. Most people don't seem to expand then just run out of money and lose.

reaper rush is useless against terran and zerg ~ but somewhat effective vs protoss ... at least enough to be a nuisance but it depends entirely on your micro skills

... but quite honestly reaper rush doesn't really work

Not even going to try to play online till I have the AI beaten.

Also is a bit confusing to see which untis does more damage to certain types and all that. How do you guys remember these stuff?

I still use reaper rush in plat and still manage to win... I just hate it when someone warp prisms your ass or medivac drop you ==.


Stalkers + Maras > Reapers tho.

i agree, but when you are generally playing against players who also think its useless and then start playing other players who think its the best strat it catches you off guard haha.

Talk to people about it, play more games, you'll get the hang of it. Don't be concerned about what does more damage to who....just discuss what counters what. IE. Immortals counter Roaches. Hydras + Roachs+Lings+Infestors counter MMM.
