Im a little surprised this dragged on for 7 episodes. They could have sped it up a little bit, I mean, I can hardly even remember more than a handfull of moments from the season. Certainly not more than what could have been squeezed into 5 episodes. That being said, Im glad its not a fast paced run and gun show.

What I really want to know is what Hershel was thinking with not saying anything about sophia being in the barn and them constantly out looking. You know he knew.

If you still don't know what The Walking Dead is about...then goddammit, you need to read this. I'm tired of you people complaining the show is "slow" or how there isn't enough shooting zombies in the face. This is the last page of the first issue of The Walking Dead.

P.S. I just realized that the TV show is missing something...and it's what I thought AMC would cut out. I realized it after the last scene yesterday.

The following spoiler will not spoil anything from the TV show...only the comic.

Spoiler!

twitchyzero 11-28-2011 07:19 PM

do you think Hershel/Otis knew that little girl was indeed Sophia? I am sort of doubting it, but even if they did they wont go hey we got this little girl with another 2 dozen walkers taht we've been sleeping next to for weeks...do you wanna go confirm it's actually her? :troll:

The Walking Dead - The Walking Dead Sneak Peek: Episode 208, Nebraska – AMC

Listen to what Shane says. Regardless if Hershel or Otis knew it was the same little girl, Shane thinks they did, and I bet Daryl and Andrea will too.

Awesome twist with Sophia, this opens up so many different ways they can take the story!

Vansterdam 11-28-2011 08:07 PM

i got a question about the comic

Spoiler!

just watched 'the making of' amc videos...killer make up artists for a tv show holy shit haha

RRxtar 11-28-2011 10:42 PM

jeffh pointed out to me tonite that little line Hershel said when he was taking Rick to the walkers that were stuck in the mud. He said "This was usually Otis's job" I didnt think about it when I heard it but maybe what happened is Otis brought the girl to the barn, and Shane offed him before they all got together and he heard they were looking for her. It is debatable whether Hershel knew or not. Im guessing he did but we will find out in 3 months.

Ive made a point not to watch any of the sneak peaks they put in for 'next week' so Im not going to watch the one for the next ep either.

scottsman 11-28-2011 11:31 PM

reading through some articles I found out that Frank Darabont is no longer working on the show and they have reported budget cuts. Could be why there was a change from last season and spending so much time at the barn.

Anyways I still like how the show is going.

DanHibiki 11-28-2011 11:32 PM

The show gets more popular and they cut the budget!?! o_O

Ronin 11-29-2011 12:34 AM

AMC is like that. I don't know who runs that place but they're either geniuses or idiots. Can't argue with the results but they could've gotten more out of their shows if they invested more money.

They tried to cut Breaking Bad to 8 episodes and a significantly smaller budget. They tried to cut Mad Men to the same, increase ad time, product placement and cut characters. Both times they were overruled because they don't own the rights to either show and the show runners said fuck you...we'll shop our shit to HBO.

However, AMC owns The Walking Dead so they can cut shit if they feel like it. I'm tempted to believe that HBO would've made a better TWD but at the same time, all the best dramas on TV apart from Game of Thrones are on AMC.

skip to 4:30 for a definitive answer

Just realized Otis was a thin, lanky dude in the comic.

optiblue 11-29-2011 03:32 PM

wow, awesome episode this week! Really captures the the mood and how all hope is very bleak~ And they said Terra Nova was going to be the best show :fuckthatshit:

DanHibiki 11-29-2011 05:06 PM

hopefully with all the shooting they did last episode they attracted a lot of zombies to come their way. Lets get this survival shit on the road again!

Lol I like your way of thinking.

Culverin 12-06-2011 01:37 AM

Actually, how come in the first season, guns attracted zombies, but in the 2nd season, they can have a firing range and no zombies? :suspicious:

Yeah, that's a really good point. Maybe Hershel really didn't know that there was a little girl zombie in there at all.

Or, maybe it's Hershel's way of keeping them there? Since he said before that once Carl is better and they find the little girl, they can then move on.

Aside, was anyone else reminded of Simple Jack when Shane came out wearing Otis' clothes??

I was wondering the same thing!!!

Maybe the shooting range is sound proof?!??

Also, how can they waste bullets like that!!

DanHibiki 01-18-2012 03:51 PM

^Well those bullets would be wasted anyway if they tried to fire them at zombies without proper training.

twitchyzero 01-18-2012 05:26 PM

show's going to be a 16 episode arc next season just like breaking bad
no more dragged out plots please.

Vansterdam 01-19-2012 02:06 PM

The show isn't about action it's about the story of the people.... Remember it's not a show with action because it's about zombies
