started out amazing...the rest is blah..

fs604 02-19-2012 07:50 PM

pretty satisfying compared to the previous ones

When Shane was talking to Andrea, saying how they're treated the same by the others, I didn't understand how Shane saw it that way. People seem to treat Andrea a lot better than Shane, at least from what I can recall.

Does anybody else think Shane and Daryl would make good friends? Maybe it's because they're both outcasts of the group.

Ronin 02-19-2012 09:35 PM

The more I watch this show, the more I hate the characters.

Which is really different from the comic.

DanHibiki 02-19-2012 10:18 PM

^Agreed. There isn't a single character in this show that I care for anymore.

The barn is such a buzzkill.

daryl is sort of outcast by choice though (socially)...but shane is more so from his actions.

I think Daryl's character is likeable. He showed lots of compassion looking for the little girl.
But yeah, everyone else is a little meh. I really can't stand Lori's character cause of how dumb they made her as and Andrea's character.

you can say that again!

I am so disappointing with the show! It's getting stupider and stupider.

One, why is Shane being hung out to dry when he was the one that has been saving everyone all along and making the right calls.

Two, Rick is becoming more and more annoying!! HOW DOES IT MAKE SENSE AT ALL WHEN

Spoiler!

Also, Lori is getting out of control too, the accusations she's making over Shane, which I think is totally driven by her guilty conscience for "cheating" on the husband she thought was dead.

after watching this weeks episode I am ready to give up on this show altogether!

I will probably stick to the comics from now on, at least the character progression makes sense, the annoying people are all appropriately dead and there's more action.

SO the original creator (Frank Darabont) of The Walking Dead was fired in the summer because his vision didn't coincide with the budget cuts AMC was doing. Apparently they were given a tax credit and decided to just pocket it instead.

Frank Darabont Discusses ‘The Walking Dead’ Exit & New Series ‘L.A. Noir’ | Screen Rant

Quote:

Through it all, Darabont remained silent. However, with the first Darabont-less Walking Dead episodes airing when season 2 resumes in February, now is probably as good a time as any for the filmmaker to put the issue to rest.

According to Darabont, the show’s dwindling budget was certainly the impetus for his parting with AMC – though he acknowledges the rift runs deeper.
Quote:

“…I was really given no choice. I don’t understand the thinking behind, ‘Oh, this is the most successful show in the history of basic cable. Let’s gut the budgets now.’ I never did understand that and I think they got tired of hearing me complain about it. It’s a little more complicated than that, but that’s as far as I want to go with it because otherwise it’s just provoking more controversy and that’s not really of interest to me. I just want to keep my head down and do my job and be allowed to do my job, that’s key, and continue to, hopefully, enjoy it and do good work.”

The mid-season premier was the Glen Mazarra's first show at the helm and he claims it'll be more fast paced from here on.

Robert Kirkman and Glen Mazzara THE WALKING DEAD Season 2 Interview

Quote:

Looking back, do you regret taking several episodes to look for Sophia?

ROBERT KIRKMAN: I think it was important to take the time to get to know our characters. It’s a good thing to lull people into a false sense of security, when the characters are experiencing a false sense of security. I think their time spent on the farm made the Sophia reveal that much bigger of a payoff, but is also going to inform just how the last six episodes are interpreted. I think, if they didn’t have that moment of calm, where we got to know our characters a little bit better and we got a sense that things were looking pretty good for them, this farm would have been a great place for them to be. In the next half of the episodes, we’re going to see that the farm isn’t that great a place. You have to build up what they have, before you can take it away. That’s really what makes the story more interesting.

MAZZARA: Yeah, I think we have a story that we’re telling over 13 episodes. That first half had a great payoff, and the second half accelerates the storytelling. I don’t know if we’d say that we regret any of the episodes that we did. I’m proud of those episodes and, if some people feel that some of those episodes were slower than others, I could argue that we were spending time with our characters.

i didnt know they let the creator go.... that's just retarded... but might also explain some of the ridiculousness we've been getting recently.... especially with Lori

Ign confirmed that AMC has chosen their actor who will be portraying the Governor in season 3.

Ohhhhh shiiiiit. Shit is gonna get real crazy!

AMC just announced that they have cast their "Governor" for The Walking Dead. We don't want to spoil things too much for those people who haven't read the comics, other than to say that The Governor is a frighteningly fiendish antagonist that many fans of the Robert Kirkman comics have been waiting to see portrayed on the hit TV series.

British actor David Morrissey (The Reaping, Centurion) will play the Governor – the leader of a small settlement of zompocalypse survivors known as Woodbury. It also seems like, comics-to-TV wise, that The Governor might be popping up sooner than he does in the comics. The Governor will be appearing in Season 3, which has a 16-episode order and begins production in Atlanta in the spring.
