It's a VERY good sign for Season 3. Ending showed a prison, and thats likely where their next place to stay will be.

Why the hate towards Rick from the group?

Merle Dixon who was chained on the rooftop in the first season but cut off his hand to run away ... he's scheduled to come back in the third season ... him and Daryl are pretty badass too imo
