I wAnder if there are any UNintentional providers out there??
My neighbour?
Overturning the recent CRTC decision on UBB is a good thing, but it is just a small step. The CRTC needs a shakeup, since most of their higher-ups are friends/ex-board members of the big telcos. Otherwise, I am sure that they will find some loophole and institute something more subtle in the future, still with the aim of gouging the consumer.

great interview im a fan of Teksavvy now and its great watching Kevin get smacked down (if u google Burger's name + teksavvy you get pages and pages of results on this very interview lol)
That Kevin guy is also on Dragon's Den and acts the exact same way.
He's not even human, how can you sleep at night knowing you're riding on pure greed. This man, like many others invest when there's a way for exponential profits, aka screwing consumers. These people take fair price out of the equation and bank that when you're corned, you'll pay.

If you listened to Senior VP guy from Bell, he did not actually answer any of the questions, especially when pushed about how they can provide the same services at a much lower price. That Dragon Den's bald fuck reminds me exactly why I don't watch that show.
affects maybe 30,000 people?
they forget that familes share internet.
4-6 people in a family sometimes share internet, and so 60gb is really easy to hit if even one or two of them are heavy users.
Oh my GOD THIS MAN PISSES ME THE FUCK OFF. He doesn't know two shits about a computer, let alone the internet. Why oh WHY is he the chairman of a regulatory body of the internet?

Are you serious?????? Internet Protocol Television
I hate that bald fuck from the video above. I hope everything he's invested in bombs til he's a fucking hobo. Such a slimy sack of shit...
As for TekSavvy, massive props to them. I had only heard of them a few times before but now I'm gonna look into them, and seriously consider switching if I can.

No, you got x amount depending on what kind you have. You got so much that you didnt need to worry unless you torrented a bunch of 1080p movies like Avatar.
This is stupid, think about the netflix users. Their bill is going to be so high that they wont be able to use it anymore. Posted via RS Mobile
wow, i share my net with my 2 other roomates, maybe download a few torrents every 2 weeks and already at 300gbs per month on extreme (according to shaw's site). wtf is this. Does telus not have limits?

Where is my OtherOS support? where is the 9ml per bottle I'm missing that I used to have with my 600ml bottle? why the fuck do those shorty cans cost as much as a regular 355ml can of coke? WHY THE FUCK ARE 300g BAGS OF DORITOS NOW 280g?!?!?!? fuck these companies....
this thread is now about companies that cut back on product and freeze/increase prices.

Called shaw earlier because I had to cancel something from my dad's TV package. I then brought up the issue of UBB and how it was affecting me. A big chunk of my bandwidth this month was eaten up because of school. Version control, backups, downloading examples all take a big chunk. Downloading a few 100mb examples and uploading my project every so often all adds up.
He didn't really care so I told him I'd cancel and transfer over to telus. He laughed and said you're kidding yourself if you think telus isn't going to charge. I said I know but they still don't have an implementation to meter their Optik services and he said they eventually will. Just kept saying I'm kidding myself.
He then tells me its necessary that they're doing this to limit people from overusing the internet which is a complete joke. I went on about how it was going to destroy net neutrality in Canada. He just says It's necessary because you pay for what you use. I tell him yea I know but it's not fair to be charging a huge markup for it. Told him the $.02/GB compared to $2/GB they're charging. Decided to give me the electricity example. Threw it back at him and told him they don't charge an extreme amount for going over.
Didn't really offer anything even though my dad's been with them for almost 16 years. I think it was just the CSR though, last time I called they offered me a pretty good deal to stay. This guy sounded a lot like Schwarzenegger lol.
Switched to Telus Optik and downloading consistently around 2600-2800KB/s. It dips down to around 2100KB/s whenever we have a TV on but still much faster compared to Shaw Xtreme.
