some people saying a 24hr time window for the plant now, the plant is not the same as the Chernobyl plant so the damage will be considerable less if there is a meltdown. also reports of a couple hundred bodies found off coast of Hong Kong |
so from now to dec 2012, there's gonna be a lot of disasters. |

prime minister special announcement now |
if say the big one tsunami is able to swallow up vancouver island and makes it into the greater vancouver, would it be wise to drive up grouse mountain or is there some alternative? |
As much as I dont like chun on the forums, Im actually glad hes safe. I havent been able to get in touch with my friends in Japan at all. One actually went back 2 weeks ago to find her birth mother. This honestly fucking sucks. Tried online. Nothing. Im waiting until tomorrow before I call again. |
prime minister says tsunami exceeded expectations in the past and planning in the past, says he saw major areas of damage and increased self defense force from 20k to 50k people and is going to increase even more. 50 countries have offered help when needed he will contact them. according to the guy translating he was repeating kind of looked lost im guessing what he saw really shocked him. energy people says explosion was not nuclear was an increase of hydrogen between concrete and nuclear area. cieverts sp? lowered since explosion from 1015 to 700ish. original increase in cieverts? partly from vapor release earlier in day as well. they are going to now use ocean water for cooling now and recover the #1 reactor. they really havnt really guaranteed that its stable but said they are looking after it now. increased evacuation area due to new plan with ocean water which they said has never been tried before |

theres no way a tsunami would engulf vancouver island... the Nuclear facility explosion was due to a Hydrogen gas buildup the reactor itself is fine supposedly and they;'re going to use ocean water to cool |
all info im getting is from a guy who is translating nhk news and has his friend beside him searching other japanese news sites etc http://yokosonews.com/live/ im not sure on the hk thing because he is repeating some stuff people are tweeting him |

Highest elevation on the Island 2,200 m (7,200 ft) The island is 460 kilometres (290 mi) in length and 80 kilometres (50 mi) in width at its widest point. At 32,134 km2 (12,407.0 sq mi), Vancouver Island is the largest Pacific island east of New Zealand,[nb 1] the largest island on the western side of North America, the world's 43rd largest island. I don't think a Tsunami will be able to go over a mountain. |

10,000 missing in Minami-sanriku-cho in Miyagi alone... Absolutely no contact with this town so far. Watching the helicopter footage is chilling. Absolutely wrecked and no motion in sight. Posted via RS Mobile |
Some posts in this thread makes me fucking rage. |
A friend just chimed in about Natori... Utilities are all down but a lot of people there are still okay. They just can't be reached at the time being. Posted via RS Mobile |
The toll as of 10 mins ago. Sorry, no translations for the kanji... will do it later when I'm at a computer http://distillery.s3.amazonaws.com/m...06d14b52_7.jpg Posted via RS Mobile |

Unless you're gf's hometown is either Sendai, Fukushima, or Aomori I wouldn't freak out just yet and be patient. The country's dealing with a lot of shit right now with people waiting for their phones to get back on, their train lines to come online, their water and electricity to come back, etc. so calling a bf halfway around the world may not be top priority atm, and just getting things back in order just to be functional. I really really really hope you don't say she's in either of those 3 places. I'm Crossing my fingers for her dude. edit: Oh and like Chun, if she's in Tokyo, all my Tokyo friends on FB are chiming in that they're all alright and life is going on as usual, albeit paying close attention to news and public advisories. |
