I would like to know as well, I'll most likely head out there early afternoon to see how it is this year ... hoping maybe the not so great weather might thin out the crowds a bit

I just went this morning, and there were zero boats selling spot prawns

There were only salmon, uni, sole, pollock and little shrimp. The number of boats at the dock was less than usual, for a weekend, however.

Picked up shrimp instead. The uni guy showed up? The cooks at work said getting Uni is a completely chance event at the docks.

Next time one of you guys are down there, can you get the contact info for the uni guy?
I'm in North Burnaby, no point in me heading down if he's not going to be there.

Early this evening I went to grab some spot prawns, obviously missed the boat at Fisherman's Warf... was close to T&T so I popped in, they charged $18.88/lb. I called the Lobster Man and was quoted $17.99/lb. Bought 2 lbs from T&T and had a great meal but I don't remember these shops being this expensive last year. Other than paying $12/lb at the warf, what are you guys paying per lb at shops?

May 8th it would've been spot prawns from the US which are cheaper; dunno which places that sell US ones now that the BC season has opened.

I went to Lobsterman around the same time as you did and yes they didnt have any. I asked them and they were going to receive their prawns around 3pm $17.99 lb. I just walked over to the wharf, lined up for 5min and got them for $14/lb

The "Sales Float" page from the harbour authority is usually updated daily with what's available:

$12.99lbs @ T&T today, also had $7.99lbs on some monster(3.5-4.5lbs) lobsters most are too big and the meat won't be as nice as the 2-3lbs ones.
