The lawyers must love it,string them along for more money even though they don't have a chance of getting off scott free.

I think that the lawyers know that their clients will most likely not get off scot free. Their job is to get the best possible outcome for their clients. So if the crown asks for a one year sentence the defense can argue for a 4 month sentence. And if the judge decides on a 6 month sentence... Well 6 months is better than a year.

which particular prison facility would not be the "pound you in the ass variety'?

I don't know how much that actually happens. For a 3-4 week stint, I think my strategy would be, make no eye contact, make no conversation and stay the fuck by myself, yet around people enough to avoid that whole foreign object invading my ass thing.

I dunno around here, but I was thinking in the states how they have minimum security places for white collar/non-violent offenders and such.

In Gridlock's link, "he was taken to the North Fraser regional jail, where inmates serve sentences of two years and less."

Last year, this was the facility where one inmate was killed by his roomate with a tv.

Bad idea, keeping to yourself will make you seem weak and a easy target,it also makes you seem like you have a attitude problem, best thing to do is make nuetral conversation with the general pop so people will know you are cool.

Getting pounded in the ass is reserved for "goofs",it's a way to humiliate and break someone down, only the worse offenders get this type of treatment.Once a person gets "bitched",they will forever be labled and the whole inmate population will be all over them.

Alot can happen in 3-4 weeks.

The laws are totally different if a person participates in a riot once the riot act has been read.

Hondaracer 06-12-2012 02:48 PM

Through acquaintances I know a guy doing 12 years for attempted murder

Some of you guys have no idea what your talking about, as long as your not a complete bitch even the "harsher" pens here are a cakewalk.

DanHibiki 06-12-2012 03:56 PM

Gh0stRider 06-12-2012 05:17 PM

Should have given him another few months for making that dumbass comment

tarobbt 06-12-2012 05:56 PM

Lol the comments. That is the reason why you got a jail sentence.

Judge should of handed the maximum sentence to the idiot

One month jail time is better than no jail time at all, first time offenders get no jail time whatsoever.

vafanculo 06-12-2012 06:28 PM

You know how rapists and women beaters get treated like shit by inmates? I hope these rioters get same treatement. They embarressed the city, and destroy hard working people's assets.. I don't see how they can be given any respect by inmates.

dlo 06-12-2012 06:30 PM

^ uh i dont think they will be treated like how rapist and women beaters are lol, maybe get turned into a bitch but in no way would they get the ass kicking rapist/beaters will for sure

Look up 'techniques of neutralization' to learn more. It posits that when people commit wrongdoing, they still tend to think of themselves as ethical beings (morally abiding) so they find a way to rationalize/justify their behavior, protecting them from blame internally and externally. He basically blames the victim here, which is consistent with one of the methods rapists use to justify rape. This guy is a tool, and I am glad he got jail time.

Anyone that is on the recieving end of that, will remember it for the rest of their life. They will never look at a toilet the same again.

I like that the ruling sets precedent. That guy was caught on camera, turned himself in, pleaded guilty...STILL got a month in prison, community service and a criminal record.

The people that pleaded not guilty when the evidence against them is clear must be peeing their pants right now.

GLOW 06-13-2012 07:39 AM

so that pageant queen that changed her plea to not guilty...if she gets found guilty, does that mean her sentence will be harsher than if she pleaded not guilty?
