VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Filipina-Canadian Camille Cacnio turned herself to the police on Saturday after admitting that she was part of the looting during the riots following the Vancouver Canucks’ loss in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Cacnio’s admission came via a video she posted on YouTube and her blog entry titled “Dear Vancouver, I’m Sorry.”

She apologized to her city for participating in the riots, as well as to her employer who fired her from her job due to the incident.

Alcohol and her wanting for a souvenir were her reasons for participating in the riots and looting.

Cacnio has said that she will take full responsibility for her actions and that she is ready to face the consequences.

The police have yet to file formal charges against her.

Blogs, online discussions groups and social media comments have been harsh and unforgiving to the participants of the riots.

More than 1,300 comments were posted on The Globe and Mail, a local publication in Vancouver, about Cacnio and others involved in the riots. Many said that their apologies seem insincere.

i just ignored them and took off, i was going to take a picture and post it here, but that would probably result in them smashing my car or something.

i got a good kick out of it :lol
