Those walls deserve to be in a museum. They're a work of expression and love from all the good parts of Vancouver. It's a shame some of the panels were defaced. I'm sure anyone that wrote on that wall would rather burn it than see that asshole graffiti dick in a museum. Put everything else in except that piece. |

"June 22, 2001: This website has nothing to do with the CTV story about Vancouver's graffiti wall. CTV did not ask to use our photos and artwork and will be asked to apologise. For a great series of portraits of those who cleaned up after the riots, please visit here. Note that NO major media covered this beautiful portrait project -- as usual, the media only wants reactions of fear and hate to keep you controlled, in a state of constant panic. Healing wishes to Vancouver." although the date is wrong |

Thanks, krazynuck, for checking facts. And for noting the wrong date -- all changed up now. I didn't wave a magic wand in Toronto that sent Vancouver graffiti artists to the wall. My response to the whole thing: http://www.theiloveyoublog.com/2011/...ancouvers.html Healing wishes and peace to Vancouver, Sharon Harris The I Love You World Graffiti Project |

I would like to apologize for the vitriolic reactions you are getting in response to the "I Love You"-ing of the Bay wall. The issue that most people have, I believe, is not that of the message, but of the fact that it was done after many people wrote sincere messages of caring and compassion and-dare I say it-love, they had their remarks and heartfelt thoughts and feelings overwritten. You are right, that when one person covers another person's "tag" or art it is considered graffiti. As is it when it covers an empty space. The difference being that these boards were placed to cover vandalism and were by their very nature temporary and intended to be removed. People started writing on them in a spontaneous effort to explain to visitors and residents that the actions of the few were not representative of the marjority--that whose who are interested in vandalising (destroying others' hard work) is in the minority...only to have it vandalized (destroyed/covered). While graffiti artists undersatnd, acknowledge, and even thrive in the concept that "what comes must go" and "everything is temporary", those people who wrote their comments and put in their hard work did not want to feel the same way. So while I apologize for the method in which people are communicating their distress and displeasure, I cannot apologize for the displeasure itself, which is well-earned. I understand you control no-one and that you are not directly "in-charge" of anything; but anyone who calls themselves an organizer of any kind is sure to reap the notoriety, both good and bad. Keep up the good work, spread the message of love, but perhaps reinforce the idea that love is supposed to be a sign of support and caring...not self-aggrandizing. |
Yes he did. Number and email. I said it before, post peoples' personal information here and you will get banned. I gave one warning. If you post facebook pages that include phone numbers and/or addresses, or anything of the sort, you will be banned. |

Those messages were illegal? No, they were legal as those board belongs to The Bay and they have video surveillance as well as night guards on them, which was somehow evaded. You're in distress? Displeasure? What about many others who did or did not put their messages on those board? Selfish prick. |
the i love you project has good intention but poorly executed. |
