I think Gillis is waiting for Hansen's arbatration to go through and we might see a couple moves once that happens.

Nothing on TSN about that deal.

They did announce STL signing another NJD player.

Blues ink forward Arnott to one-year deal

TSN has been notoriously slow today. The Arnott deal was announced by Andy Strickland, the Blues beat writer early this morning, TSN only picked it up in the last hour.

Langenbrunner was also announced by Strickland this morning before the Arnott signing. Langenbrunner will get a 1 year deal, $2.5M + 300k bonuses.

Oh for those of you wondering why TSN is so slow at breaking/reporting news the last few days, their key source guy Bob McKenzie has been on vacation.

^ no blob mckenzie, no speedy news

Rumors that they're looking to trade Semin.

As much as I like goal scoring, he's just another underachieving Russian that is invisible during the playoffs.

No thanks to him to join the Canucks

Semins' had 30 points in 37 career playoff games.. how can that be invinsible? Too bad that he is gets injured quite often but he is a good scorer that's for sure.

Powerplay line of Sedin/Sedin/Kes/Edler/Semin would be nice! LOL

I personally wouldn't mind him depending who goes the other way and if he fits with the cap of course. He makes 6million or something this year correct?

shawn79 07-06-2011 01:42 PM

I don't think we are going to get any offensive type player to play with Kesler. Since there are no one to sign in the FA market, it's going to be through trades. Right now, I have this gut feeling where other teams are asking for a lot more from the Canucks since we are the so called "bad guy" team. Or just they don't want a Stanley Cup finalist / President's Trophy winner to get any stronger.

So far if our forwards are healthy, our offense isn't that bad IMO.

Top 6 players
Sedins
Kesler
Burrows

Top 6-9 players
Higgins
Sammuelsson
Raymond
Sturm

Keep in mind that these 4 players are able to score 20-25 goals each.

Bottom 6 players
Maholtra
Hansen

I'm looking for a big year from Hodgson actually. I think hes matured enough to play in the NHL and take a more significant role offensively.

Did you even watch the playoffs last year? He had 40+ shots at Halak and couldn't even get one past by him.

He's a player that doesn't make others around him better. Sure, he can score. But when he gets into a slump, he's no better than Tanner Glass fanning on an empty net.

Yeah, he makes 6 million, and he's a UFA by the end of this season. No thanks.

The amount of points can be very misleading. We need to break down how he got those points. Did he get some garbage goals/assist when they were winning 3-0 or? Either way his play in general and the entire Capitals team for that fact hasn't been all that impressive in the playoffs.

He'd fit right in with Burrows :D

Hondaracer 07-06-2011 02:30 PM

Lol you guys don't watch any playoff games outside the nucks?

Semin single handedly gave up the back breaking goal this playoffs, bitching to the refs 100 feet away from the puck while st.Louis goes in for the snipe, players like that are fucking useless.
