They spend most of their time in the office being unproductive. I would liken that Badhobz gets more work done in 30 minutes than they could in 10 hours.

The owner/manager expects you to be there for 10 hours, because otherwise you are a slacker. In reality no one actually works for 10 hours. You go in at like 10am, have a coffee, go have lunch for an hour at 12. Go have tea time for 30 mins at like 3pm. Slack off for a bit, act busy but do fuck all.
No one actually values any efficiency, and if you are efficient at doing your job and get the same amount work done in 6 hours where it takes the other guy 10, you leave and now you are a slacker.
Cultural issue, and no one is really going to correct it.

Hey ! I dont waste time okay. I leave the office by usually noon or 1pm. I don’t stick around pretending to work.
I go in, yell at my withered old cunt of a secretary, go into the lunchroom and fuck around with people’s lunches to insight suspicion and drama (white girls get very upset when their kale salads go missing… they know it’s not me because I’m allergic to vegetables). Head to Costco on company time, then go home because I got frozen food in my cooler and I ain’t waiting around. That’s good time management.
You try doing that in Asia. Fired before I step foot back in the office.

People are stuck at work so long that they go out at night until 3-4am and back to work the next morning just so they can blow off some steam and feel like they have a life. This is your standard HK life. Once you've aged out of this lifestyle, you're not necessarily better off for it unless you're important enough at work to start calling the shots.
9-9-6 is an absurd expectation of the work force and it's been driving the gen z insane in HK/China. They've turned to "quiet quitting" where they won't leave the job but will slack as much as humanly possible because they don't care. There's no time to have a life and there's not enough money to get ahead so they feel like they're stuck in limbo and this is the only way to give management the middle finger.
Anyone who moves here from HK/China almost immediately feels like it's way easier of a life. Whether that's highschool students or working force adults, they see our lives here as easy street in comparison. Oh, and don't forget how cunty and blunt Chinese people are towards each other in general. It's only worse when it comes to a workplace. My friend is the son of a company owner and his coworkers are still rude af towards him.
