Are we thinking about the same one?

If you have the hydrosteam version then yeah, it does the steam + extract at the same time:

^ I have the top one, I wish it steamed but it doesn't. It just extracts and to be really fair, it's just a wet vacuum with the ability to warm up the solution if you use it for a long time.

headhunt3r 12-22-2025 12:45 PM

Damn. I wanna upgrade my Bissell now. Hydrostream on the extractor looks great.

radeonboy 12-22-2025 01:00 PM

If you already have a portable carpet spot cleaner that doesn't have a steam function, another consideration is using a separate handheld steam cleaner to loosen the stain / dirt before using the spot cleaner for extraction.

The steam cleaner itself is great for all kinds of surfaces and is perfect for degreasing the kitchen stove or for cleaning things without fully relying on chemicals.

Annas archive has backed up all of spotify and made it into torrents. it's 300 TB.

Anna's Archive is a massive open-source search engine and metadata index for "shadow libraries," describing itself as the largest truly open library in human history. It aims to catalog and provide access to all existing books, papers, and now music.

I have had albums that I listen to disappear from spotify. One I can't find anywhere. i do have a copy of it put playing back mp3's is kind of a pain when using a phone.

I'm actually curious. What songs were those if you don't kind sharing?

Sorry, forgot to clarify. I have a separate steamer (Bisell Powersteamer). I use that first to kinda prep or get rid of the worst dirt then use my washer (Bisell Spotclean) to finish the job. Didn't know they now come in a single package. Maybe next time if they break.

Eff-1 12-22-2025 03:35 PM

yeah so my couch hasnt been cleaned professionally in about 5 years. it's a lighter off-white/beige colour. cushions are looking pretty rough and discoloured. it needs a good deep clean.

I saw the rug doctor machines came with an upholstry attachment, which is why I thought of that.

I'd be happy to buy one something from costco and DIY but sounds like people here are saying don't bother? reviews on this seem good? https://www.costco.ca/bissell-little...000325725.html

how much is a professional cleaning? does anyone know?

radeonboy 12-22-2025 04:46 PM

How dirty of a couch are we talking about? A photo or two would help.

westopher 12-22-2025 05:35 PM

Oh good let’s make musicians make even less money. That’s bound to be excellent for creativity.
You can buy digital albums on bandcamp fyi, and that money is going to artists instead of an ai weaponry company.

I miss the days of heading to A&B Sound / Sam The Record Man / HMV etc to look for and buy physical media from bands I enjoy in order to support them and their future work.

I still buy what I can now but, man, music as an art is almost dead. Creatively bankrupt and run over by the slop train.

westopher 12-22-2025 09:15 PM

My first thing to do, every paycheque when I was younger was go straight to a&b to buy 2 CDs.
I still use streaming, but make sure to buy vinyls or merch or see the band or whatever. We are cruising towards a world without art made by real humans, and it’s pathetic.

What's a pain about it? I tried streaming a little bit ages ago, found it wasn't great, and went back to just playing .mp3's on my phone because I prefer to always have my own copies of anything I like that work anywhere.

I use android auto and I don't know of a simple way to play mp3's with it.

68style 12-23-2025 04:14 AM

^ Poweramp?

6793026 12-23-2025 06:35 AM

wtf, i just download the music onto a USB and just USB the whole thing.

I still use cable cause I get to charge my phone but man i'm old, i still listen to radio for chiense news. When chinese boring stuff comes along, then i flip onto MP3.

My google home got upgraded with gemini and now its very very smart. Almost too smart. Scary how good this AI has gotten, you can ask it the most obscure things and it’ll come back with a very concise and well thought out answer.

I asked if it i should buy a 200-800mm lens or a 100-500mm and it went into a big essay comparing the pros and cons. Holy shit. No wonder all the tech bros are getting fired, these things are reaching critical mass and will soon take over the world.

GLOW 12-23-2025 08:39 AM

was it an automatic OTA update? wonder if my 1st gen google home is now skynet

And so, what is conclusion? Which way are you leaning? 800mm on the Richmond Dyke would earn you a lot of respect and you'd have the longest.

Badhobz 12-23-2025 09:02 AM

200-800 is slightly slower but also 1500 bucks cheaper. Might also break in half if you’re not careful (how did Gemini know this too ?!?!?).

Me being a cheap fuck will buy the 200-800

You have to go into the Google home app and accept the new update. Bunch of privacy boiler plate things you need to agree to before it can be upgraded. Meh Google already knows everything about me, it’ll be easy to replace me with a terminator skin suit when the time comes.

68style 12-23-2025 09:29 AM

I’m not even Google and I feel like I know too much about you sometimes

CivicBlues 12-23-2025 09:36 AM

My Alexa keeps pushing me to upgrade to Alexa+ for $27.99/mo
